Ce remarquable puits a été construit en 1617 par Jacob Zumsteg, auteur également du puits de Rosheim. Dans un cartouche sont gravés les noms de l'architecte et des notables qui ont permis son édification grâce à leurs dons. En 2009, le puits a été restauré et déblayé, ce qui a permis la mise à jour du magnifique cuvelage constitué de pierres de grès taillées. Sa profondeur est de 8 mètres avec une profondeur d'eau de 4 mètres. En face, l'hôtel de ville est un magnifique bâtiment Renaissance du XVI° siècle, comportant un très bel oriel à deux étages et un escalier à vis logé dans une tourelle.

In a cartouche are engraved the names of the architect and the notables who allowed its construction thanks to their donations. In 2009, the well was restored and cleared, which allowed the discovery of the magnificent casing made of cut sandstone. Its depth is 8 meters with a water depth of 4 meters. Opposite, the town hall is a magnificent Renaissance building from the 16th century, with a beautiful two-story oriel and a spiral staircase housed in a turret.
