Eglise Saint Martial – Corrèze

Construite dès le XIIème siècle, l'église Saint-Martial est d'origine romane. Mais elle fut détruite à plusieurs reprises et reconstruite, ce qui explique la présence d'élément gothiques. Son clocher est de forme très particulière. Il est de style dit "anglais", à savoir avec une forme hexagonale sur une base carrée. A l'intérieur, le retable baroque est l'élément le plus incontournable. Daté du XVIIème siècle, il est l'œuvre des frères Tournié. Des scènes bibliques comme l'Annonciation ou Saint-Georges terrassant le dragon y sont représentées, ainsi que Saint-Martial en évêque.

Built as early as the 12th century, Saint-Martial church is of Romanesque origin. However, it was destroyed several times and rebuilt, which explains the presence of Gothic elements. Its bell tower has a very distinctive shape. It is in the so-called "English" style, with a hexagonal shape on a square base. Inside, the Baroque altarpiece is the most striking feature. Dating from the 17th century, it is the work of the Tournié brothers. It depicts biblical scenes such as the Annunciation and Saint-Georges slaying the dragon, as well as Saint-Martial as a bishop.

Die Kirche Saint-Martial wurde bereits im 12. Jahrhundert erbaut und ist ursprünglich romanisch. Sie wurde jedoch mehrmals zerstört und wieder aufgebaut, was das Vorhandensein von gotischen Elementen erklärt. Ihr Glockenturm hat eine ganz besondere Form. Er ist im sogenannten "englischen" Stil gebaut, d. h. mit einer sechseckigen Form auf einer quadratischen Basis. Im Inneren der Kirche ist das barocke Altarbild das wichtigste Element. Es stammt aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und ist ein Werk der Brüder Tournié. Dargestellt sind biblische Szenen wie die Verkündigung oder der Heilige Georg, der den Drachen besiegt, sowie der Heilige Martial als Bischof.

De klokkentoren heeft een heel aparte vorm. Het is in de zogenaamde "Engelse" stijl, met een zeshoekige vorm op een vierkante basis. Binnen valt vooral het barokke altaarstuk op. Het dateert uit de 17e eeuw en is het werk van de gebroeders Tournié. Het beeldt bijbelse scènes uit zoals de Annunciatie en Sint Joris die de draak verslaat, maar ook Sint Martial als bisschop.
