LA MAISON DES CONSULS – Les Matelles

Les salles voutées sont dédiées aux plus belles pièces de la collection archéologique du musée. Tu trouveras des poteries, ossements, silex, bijoux et plein d’outils de la vie quotidienne des Hommes au Néolithique final. C’est la période où les Hommes commencent à se sédentariser et donc à créer leurs propres habitations, les premiers villages. Le premier étage accueille des expositions temporaires autour des thématiques du savoir-faire et de la capacité de l’artiste à transformer son environnement.

Created in 1951 following excavations by local archaeologists, the inter-communal museum of Pic Saint-Loup, labeled a ‘Museum of France’, was the first prehistory museum of the Hérault and of the Languedoc. Through beautiful collections and temporary exhibitions, it evokes the life and religious practices of the people who colonised the garrigue (scrubland) to the north of Montpellier from the Paleolithic (The Hortus Cave) to the Iron Age. The lifestyle of the Neanderthal man, who lived in the Hortus cave, near Les Matelles, is depicted there. The museum is located in the centre of this medieval village on all the floors of a typical Languedoc style house.

Das älteste Museum zur Vorgeschichte im Hérault (in den 1950er-Jahren gegründet) befindet sich in der mittelalterlichen Gemeinde Les Matelles im Hérault. Nach der Renovierung bietet die Maison des Consuls – Musée d’Arts et d’Archéologie en Grand Pic Saint-Loup eine Dauerausstellung zur Vorgeschichte sowie Sonderausstellungen, die sich um die Fertigkeiten des Menschen und seine Fähigkeit, seine Umwelt zu verändern, drehen. Das von der Samtgemeinde Le Grand Pic Saint-Loup getragene „lebendige“ Archäologiemuseum bietet einen echten Zugang zur Vorgeschichte in Grand Pic Saint-Loup sowie zur zeitgenössischen Kunst in all ihren Formen.

De gewelfde zalen zijn gewijd aan de mooiste stukken uit de archeologische collectie van het museum. Je vindt er aardewerk, botten, vuurstenen, sieraden en veel gereedschap uit het dagelijks leven van mensen in het laatste neolithicum. Dit was de periode waarin mensen zich gingen vestigen en hun eigen woningen gingen bouwen, de eerste dorpen. Op de eerste verdieping zijn tijdelijke tentoonstellingen te zien over de thema's vakmanschap en het vermogen van kunstenaars om hun omgeving te transformeren.

Las salas abovedadas están dedicadas a las mejores piezas de la colección arqueológica del museo. Encontrará cerámicas, huesos, sílex, joyas y muchas herramientas de la vida cotidiana de los hombres del Neolítico final. Fue en esta época cuando la gente empezó a asentarse y a crear sus propias viviendas, los primeros poblados. La primera planta alberga exposiciones temporales sobre los temas de la artesanía y la capacidad de los artistas para transformar su entorno.

Le sale a volta sono dedicate ai pezzi più belli della collezione archeologica del museo. Troverete ceramiche, ossa, selci, gioielli e molti strumenti della vita quotidiana degli uomini del Neolitico finale. Questo fu il periodo in cui le persone iniziarono a stabilirsi e a creare le proprie abitazioni, i primi villaggi. Il primo piano ospita mostre temporanee sui temi dell'artigianato e della capacità degli artisti di trasformare l'ambiente.
