Eglise Saint Léger de Sauveterre de Guyenne – Sauveterre-de-Guyenne

Incendiée au XVIème siècle par les protestants, cette église romane est aujourd'hui tronquée, car seuls subsistent le chœur voûté en coupole byzantine découronnée et l'abside en cul-de-four aplati. L'abside n'était cependant pas voûtée à l'origine. Après l'incendie, l'arc triomphal est muré et une porte est aménagée. La décoration de l'édifice est en grande partie détruite au XVIème siècle. Inscrit I.S.H.M 1925.

Burned down in the 16th century by the Protestants, this Romanesque church is now truncated, as only the vaulted choir with its Byzantine dome and the apse with its flattened cul-de-four remain. However, the apse was not originally vaulted. After the fire, the triumphal arch was walled up and a door was built. The decoration of the building was largely destroyed in the 16th century. Jahrhundert von den Protestanten niedergebrannt wurde, ist diese romanische Kirche heute verkürzt, da nur noch der Chor mit einem Gewölbe aus einer entkröpften byzantinischen Kuppel und die Apsis mit einem abgeflachten Cul-de-four erhalten sind.
