Château de Bazoches – Bazoches

Etabli à mi-pente d'une colline boisée sur l'emplacement d'un ancien poste romain, en visibilité directe avec Vézelay, le château féodal de Bazoches construit au 12ème siècle fut acquis en 1675 par le Maréchal de Vauban grâce à une gratification que lui accorda Louis XIV. Dès son installation Vauban y fit de nombreux aménagements et le transforma en garnison militaire. Ses descendants et actuels propriétaires conservent avec soin de nombreux souvenirs de leur illustre ancêtre: armure, chambre à coucher, cabinet de travail, bibliothèque. 

Established halfway up a wooded hill on the site of an ancient Roman post, in direct visibility with Vézelay, the feudal castle of Bazoches, built in the 12th century, was acquired in 1675 by the Marshal of Vauban thanks to a gratuity granted to him by Louis XIV. As soon as he was installed, Vauban made numerous alterations to the castle and transformed it into a military garrison. His descendants and current owners have carefully preserved many souvenirs of their illustrious ancestor: armour, bedroom, study and library.

Das im 12. Jahrhundert erbaute feudale Schloss Bazoches liegt auf halbem Hang eines bewaldeten Hügels an der Stelle eines alten römischen Postens. Es wurde 1675 von Marschall de Vauban dank einer Gratifikation, die ihm Ludwig XIV. gewährte, erworben. Nach seinem Einzug nahm Vauban zahlreiche Umbauten vor und machte die Burg zu einer Militärgarnison. Seine Nachkommen und heutigen Besitzer bewahren sorgfältig zahlreiche Erinnerungsstücke an ihren berühmten Vorfahren auf: Rüstung, Schlafzimmer, Arbeitszimmer, Bibliothek.

Het feodale kasteel van Bazoches, gelegen halverwege een beboste heuvel op de plaats van een oude Romeinse post, in direct zicht met Vézelay, werd in 1675 verworven door de maarschalk van Vauban dankzij een gratificatie die hem door Lodewijk XIV werd verleend. Zodra hij geïnstalleerd was, bracht Vauban talrijke wijzigingen aan in het kasteel en veranderde het in een militair garnizoen. Zijn afstammelingen en huidige eigenaars hebben vele souvenirs van hun illustere voorvader zorgvuldig bewaard: harnas, slaapkamer, studeerkamer en bibliotheek

Establecido a media altura de una colina boscosa en el emplazamiento de un antiguo puesto romano, en visibilidad directa con Vézelay, el castillo feudal de Bazoches, construido en el siglo XII, fue adquirido en 1675 por el mariscal de Vauban gracias a una gratificación que le concedió Luis XIV. Nada más instalarse, Vauban realizó numerosas reformas en el castillo y lo transformó en una guarnición militar. Sus descendientes y actuales propietarios han conservado cuidadosamente numerosos recuerdos de su ilustre antepasado: armadura, dormitorio, estudio y biblioteca

Situato a metà di una collina boscosa sul sito di un'antica postazione romana, in diretta visibilità con Vézelay, il castello feudale di Bazoches, costruito nel XII secolo, fu acquistato nel 1675 dal maresciallo di Vauban grazie a una mancia concessagli da Luigi XIV. Appena insediato, Vauban apportò numerose modifiche al castello e lo trasformò in una guarnigione militare. I suoi discendenti e gli attuali proprietari hanno conservato con cura molti ricordi del loro illustre antenato: armatura, camera da letto, studio e biblioteca
