CHAPELLE SAINT-GEORGES A AUJEURRES – Aujeurres

Située en bordure de l'ancienne voie romaine de Langres à Autun et déjà attestée vers l'an Mille, cette chapelle bordant le cimetière fut détruite sous la Révolution, et reconstruite en 1832. Mais de nouveau ruinée en 1866, elle fut immédiatement reconstruite grâce à la libéralité de la population et du curé d'Aujeurres, et fut bénite en 1868. |L'architecte Henner qui la réalisa dans le style néo-gothique alors en vogue, la dota d'un élégant clocheton et fit représenter sur le tympan de la porte, la légende de St Georges à cheval terrassant le dragon.

Located along the ancient Roman road from Langres to Autun, and already attested to around the year 1000, this chapel bordering the cemetery was destroyed during the Revolution, and rebuilt in 1832. Ruined again in 1866, it was immediately rebuilt thanks to the generosity of the local population and the parish priest of Aujeurres, and was blessed in 1868. The architect Henner, who designed it in the neo-Gothic style then in vogue, added an elegant bell tower and had the legend of St. George on horseback slaying the dragon depicted on the tympanum of the door.

Diese Kapelle am Rande der alten Römerstraße von Langres nach Autun, die bereits um das Jahr 1000 nachgewiesen wurde, grenzte an den Friedhof und wurde während der Revolution zerstört und 1832 wieder aufgebaut. Der Architekt Henner, der die Kapelle im damals beliebten neugotischen Stil errichtete, stattete sie mit einem eleganten Glockenturm aus und ließ auf dem Tympanon der Tür die Legende des Heiligen Georg zu Pferd, der den Drachen besiegt, darstellen.

Deze kapel, die aan de rand van de oude Romeinse weg van Langres naar Autun ligt en al rond het jaar 1000 wordt vermeld, werd tijdens de Revolutie verwoest en in 1832 herbouwd. In 1866 werd ze opnieuw verwoest, maar dankzij de vrijgevigheid van de plaatselijke bevolking en de pastoor van Aujeurres werd ze onmiddellijk heropgebouwd en in 1868 gezegend. De architect Henner, die de kapel ontwierp in de neogotische stijl die toen in de mode was, voegde een elegante klokkentoren toe en liet de legende van Sint-Joris te paard die de draak verslaat op het timpaan van de deur afbeelden.

Rovinata nuovamente nel 1866, fu subito ricostruita grazie alla generosità della popolazione locale e del parroco di Aujeurres e fu benedetta nel 1868. L'architetto Henner, che la progettò nello stile neogotico allora in voga, aggiunse un elegante campanile e fece raffigurare sul timpano della porta la leggenda di San Giorgio a cavallo che uccide il drago.
