Description

Nourished by the verses of Goethe, Hölderlin and Novalis, borrowing from Andalusian sea spray and evoking a Basque love wound, the ghost sings of the fall into the abyss of the "lover couple" and reveals with its poetic convolutions the intra-gender violence that patriarchy bequeaths to queer relationships. On the secret beach of Gulpiyuri, in the setting sun, a couple is noisily tearing each other apart. Then Analphabet appears, a ghostly creature, romantic and romantic, emerging from the sea to tell the story of her life. An incandescent interpreter of his own drifting, Alberto Cortés – designer, playwright, director and performer – generates plays of different formats and disciplines in an attempt to keep hope alive in the intangible, the spiritual and the human. Oscillating between dark poetry and spectral cabaret, the story moves forward to the rhythm of a feverish violin played by Luz Prado and a flickering lighting design by Benito Jiménez. What can words do to heal the wound? These questions, asked with impunity, give rise to a queer liturgy in which hope, dying but tenacious, rides a horse of glory, a lyrical cry to relearn how to take care of oneself and others. The performance on the 24th will be followed by a DJ set by Marion Versatile
