Boucle des Coteaux – Saint-Aignan

Cette boucle vous emmène sur les hauts coteaux du Fronsadais où dominent les moulins à vents et Le Château Plaint-Point. Ce château se voit retracer son histoire dans de nombreux livres historiques. En effet, les premières traces de vignes remonteraient en 1480 où le Château Plaint Point est alors déjà l’un des plus célèbres vignobles de France. L’origine de son nom provient du latin ‘Plain-Poing’ qui signifie ‘le sommet’. Le château jouit d’un cadre somptueux et des meilleures terres de l’appellation Fronsac. Mais bien avant la viticulture, les terres étaient vouées à la production de céréales. Les moulins étaient donc situés sur les hauteurs, dans les terres soumises aux vents. L’église St Aignan a été construite dans le courant du XIème siècle, puis agrandie au XIIème, pour enfin voir sa tour-clocher fortifiée édifiée en 1687.

Indeed, the first traces of vines date back to 1480, when Château Plaint Point was already one of the most famous vineyards in France. The origin of its name comes from the Latin ?Plain-Poing? meaning ?the summit? The château enjoys a sumptuous setting and some of the best land in the Fronsac appellation. But long before winegrowing, the land was devoted to cereal production. The mills were therefore located on the higher ground, in windy areas. The church of St. Aignan was built in the 11th century, enlarged in the 12th and fortified in 1687.

Ma molto prima della viticoltura, la terra era dedicata alla produzione di cereali. I mulini erano quindi situati sulle alture, nelle zone ventose. La chiesa di St. Aignan fu costruita nell'XI secolo, poi ampliata nel XII secolo e infine dotata di un campanile fortificato nel 1687.
