Grâce à cette visite, nous en apprendrons plus sur ce fameux poète, de ses écrits à ses combats politiques, en passant par ses amours. Le château de St Point retrace la vie de l'auteur, grâce à de nombreux objets lui ayant appartenu, mais aussi grâce à ses appartements qui sont restés intact depuis son décès. Nous apprendrons aussi que Lamartine était aussi un vigneron, et c'est la raison pour laquelle nous finirons la visite par une dégustation commentée de vins agrémentées de charcuterie, de pain et de fromage, dans le parc du château.
