Villiers-les-Aprey était autrefois nommé Viler juxta Apreyum ou Villers sous Aujeurs. Sous l'ancien régime, le village dépendait de la paroise d'Aprey et relevait du bailliage de Châtillon-sur-Seine. La commune, de 40 habitants, couvre une superficie de 800 hectares au coeur d'un vallon naturel vert et calme. Elle est traversée par un affluent de la Vingeanne.

Villiers-les-Aprey was formerly known as Viler juxta Apreyum or Villers sous Aujeurs. Under the Ancien Régime, the village was part of the parish of Aprey, under the jurisdiction of the bailliage of Châtillon-sur-Seine. The commune, with a population of 40, covers an area of 800 hectares in the heart of a quiet, green valley. It is crossed by a tributary of the Vingeanne.

Villiers-les-Aprey wurde früher Viler juxta Apreyum oder Villers sous Aujeurs genannt. Unter dem alten Regime war das Dorf von der Paroisse d'Aprey abhängig und unterstand der Vogtei von Châtillon-sur-Seine.
