Saints-Geosmes tire son som de Saints-Jumeaux, patrons du village qui auraient été martyrisés au IIème Siècle par les romains. L'enracinement du culte des Trois Jumeaux permit le développement d'une abbaye bénédictine, puis d'un prieuré au XIIème Siècle qui perdura jusqu'au XVIIIème Siècle. Saints-Geosmes takes its name from Saints-Jumeaux, the village's patron saints, who are said to have been martyred by the Romans in the 2nd century. The deep-rooted cult of the Three Twins led to the development of a Benedictine abbey, then a priory in the 12th century, which lasted until the 18th century. Today, the 13th-century church and the 9th-century Carolingian crypt, probably dedicated to the cult of the Three Twins, bear witness to this. Saints-Geosmes hat seinen Namen von Saints-Jumeaux, den Schutzpatronen des Dorfes, die im 2. Jahrhundert von den Römern gemartert wurden. Die Verehrung der drei Zwillinge führte zur Entwicklung einer Benediktinerabtei und im 12. Jahrhundert zu einem Priorat, das bis ins 18. Jahrhundert und die karolingische Krypta aus dem 9. Saints-Geosmes ontleent zijn naam aan Saints-Jumeaux, de beschermheiligen van het dorp, die in de 2e eeuw door de Romeinen gemarteld zouden zijn. De diepgewortelde cultus van de Drie Tweelingen leidde tot de ontwikkeling van een benedictijnenabdij, gevolgd door een priorij in de 12e eeuw, die duurde tot de 18e eeuw. Saints-Geosmes toma su nombre de Saints-Jumeaux, los santos patronos del pueblo, martirizados por los romanos en el siglo II. El arraigado culto a los Tres Gemelos propició la creación de una abadía benedictina, seguida de un priorato en el siglo XII, que perduró hasta el siglo XVIII.
