La jonque

Vincente Blanchard est originaire de Rouen installée à Mulhouse. L’oeuvre installée ici au Nouveau Bassin n’est pas sa première œuvre monumentale, ni sa première commande publique. On retrouve plusieurs de ses œuvres en Alsace, comme à Altkirch. La Jonque est une association de bronze patiné auquel l’artiste ajoute un mélange particulier de sable et de ciment pour arriver à une matière proche du mortier qui va se couler entre le métal. La matière déborde petit à petit faisant presque oublier le métal. La pierre sort peu à peu de la structure métallique. L’œuvre est en lien étroit avec la nature et répond à l’environnement dans lequel elle s’inscrit. Le travail de Vincente Blanchard est très lié à l’idée de nature, comme on a pu le voir avec le titre qu’elle donne à ses séries, les invertébrés qui sont ces animaux qu’on trouve dans la nature (insectes, crustacé, etc.). Le titre de l’œuvre en lui-même renvoie à la nature et surtout à l’eau puisqu’une jonque est aussi le nom d’un bateau traditionnel d’Asie

Vincente Blanchard is originally from Rouen and lives in Mulhouse. The work installed here at the Nouveau Bassin is not his first monumental work, nor his first public commission. Several of his works can be found in Alsace, such as in Altkirch. La Jonque is an association of patinated bronze to which the artist adds a particular mixture of sand and cement to arrive at a material close to mortar that will flow between the metal. The material overflows little by little, almost forgetting the metal. Little by little the stone comes out of the metal structure. Vincente Blanchard stammt aus Rouen und hat sich in Mulhouse niedergelassen. Das hier im Nouveau Bassin installierte Werk ist nicht sein erstes monumentales Werk und auch nicht sein erster öffentlicher Auftrag. Mehrere ihrer Werke sind im Elsass zu finden, so auch in Altkirch. Die Jonque ist eine Kombination aus patinierter Bronze, der der Künstler eine besondere Mischung aus Sand und Zement hinzufügt, um eine mörtelähnliche Materie zu erhalten, die zwischen das Metall fließt. Das Material quillt nach und nach über und lässt das Metall fast vergessen. Der Stein tritt nach und nach aus der Metallstruktur heraus. Das Werk steht in enger Verbindung mit der Natur und reagiert auf die Umgebung, in die es sich einfügt. Vincente Blanchards Arbeit ist stark mit der Idee der Natur verbunden, wie man schon am Titel ihrer Serien sehen konnte: Wirbellose sind Tiere, die man in der Natur findet (Insekten, Schalentiere usw.). Der Titel des Werks verweist auf die Natur und vor allem auf das Wasser, da eine Dschunke auch der Name eines traditionellen asiatischen Schiffes ist

Vincente Blanchard komt oorspronkelijk uit Rouen en woont nu in Mulhouse. Het werk dat hier in het Nouveau Bassin is geïnstalleerd is niet haar eerste monumentale werk, noch haar eerste openbare opdracht. Verschillende van haar werken zijn te vinden in de Elzas, zoals in Altkirch. De Jonque is een combinatie van gepatineerd brons waaraan de kunstenaar een bepaald mengsel van zand en cement toevoegt om een materiaal te verkrijgen dat lijkt op mortel en dat tussen het metaal vloeit. Het materiaal loopt geleidelijk over, waardoor het metaal bijna verdwijnt. De steen komt geleidelijk uit de metalen structuur. Het werk is nauw verbonden met de natuur en reageert op de omgeving waarin het is geplaatst. Het werk van Vincente Blanchard is sterk verbonden met het idee van de natuur, zoals blijkt uit de titel die zij aan haar serie geeft, invertebraten, dat zijn de dieren die in de natuur voorkomen (insecten, schelpdieren, enz.).
