Fossé de la ville – Stadtgraben – Marckolsheim

Le stadtgraben est un fossé en eau, vestige des fortifications de Marckolsheim édifiées à partir de 1330. On entrait dans la ville grâce à deux portes surmontées d’une tour – appelées tours-porches : la porte de Strasbourg au nord et la porte de Brisach au sud. Des vestiges de la porte nord sont encore visibles sur le pont enjambant le fossé. Les murs sont en partie détruits en 1637 et les fortifications sont complètement rasées vers 1835.

The stadtgraben is a water ditch, a remnant of Marckolsheim's fortifications built from 1330 onwards. One entered the town through two gates topped by a tower – the so-called porch towers: the Strasbourg Gate to the north and the Brisach Gate to the south. Remains of the north gate can still be seen on the bridge over the moat. The walls were partly destroyed in 1637 and the fortifications were completely razed to the ground around 1835.

Der Stadtgraben ist ein Wassergraben, der von der ab 1330 errichteten Stadtbefestigung von Marckolsheim übrig geblieben ist. Man gelangte durch zwei Tore mit einem Turm – die sogenannten Tortürme – in die Stadt: die Porte de Strasbourg im Norden und die Porte de Brisach im Süden. Überreste des Nordtors sind noch auf der Brücke über den Graben zu sehen. Die Mauern wurden 1637 teilweise zerstört und die Festungsanlagen um 1835 vollständig abgerissen.

De stadtgraben is een gracht, een overblijfsel van de vestingwerken van Marckolsheim die vanaf 1330 werden gebouwd. De stad werd betreden door twee poorten met daarop een toren – de zogenaamde torenpoorten: de Straatsburgse poort in het noorden en de Brisachse poort in het zuiden. Resten van de noordelijke poort zijn nog te zien op de brug over de gracht. De muren werden gedeeltelijk verwoest in 1637 en de vestingwerken werden rond 1835 volledig met de grond gelijk gemaakt.

A la ciudad se entraba por dos puertas coronadas por una torre -conocidas como puertas torre-: la puerta de Estrasburgo al norte y la puerta de Brisach al sur. Todavía se pueden ver restos de la puerta norte en el puente sobre el foso. Las murallas fueron parcialmente destruidas en 1637 y las fortificaciones fueron completamente demolidas hacia 1835.

Lo stadtgraben è un fossato, residuo delle fortificazioni di Marckolsheim costruite a partire dal 1330. L'accesso alla città avveniva attraverso due porte sormontate da una torre, dette appunto porte-torre: la porta di Strasburgo a nord e la porta di Brisach a sud. I resti della porta settentrionale sono ancora visibili sul ponte che attraversa il fossato. Le mura furono parzialmente distrutte nel 1637 e le fortificazioni furono completamente demolite intorno al 1835.
