Description
Jusqu’en 1622 l’église de Saint-Maurice est située "Eu bas du mont", au milieu de l’actuel cimetière, c'était l’église paroissiale. En 1662 avec l’autorisation de l’évêque de Lausanne (CH), dont dépendait la paroisse, fut édifiée, sur l’emplacement actuel, une première église, en dépendance de Ste-Catherine des Hôpitaux-Neufs, menaçant de ruine, ce premier édifice fut remplacé par l’actuelle construction, qui part son style et son emplacement s’intègre parfaitement aux anciennes fortifications. Le clocher détruit en 1870 fut remplacé par un clocher pyramidal, fort éloigné du style "Comtois" qui survécu jusqu’en 1982, date de l’édification du clocher actuel reconstitué d’après des documents d’avant 1870. En même temps, la toiture est refaite et les murs ravalés, ces divers et coûteux travaux furent effectués avec le concours de la municipalité. Le clocher abrite trois cloches aussi belles que l’église qui les héberge :

Until 1622, the church of Saint-Maurice was located "Eu bas du mont", in the middle of the current cemetery, it was the parish church. In 1662, with the permission of the bishop of Lausanne (CH), on which the parish depended, a first church was built on the present site, as a dependency of St Catherine des Hôpitaux-Neufs. Threatened with ruin, this first building was replaced by the present one, which, because of its style and location, fits perfectly into the old fortifications. The bell tower destroyed in 1870 was replaced by a pyramidal bell tower, far removed from the "Comtois" style, which survived until 1982, when the present bell tower was built, reconstructed from documents dating from before 1870. At the same time, the roof was redone and the walls were renovated. These various and expensive works were carried out with the help of the municipality. Bis 1622 befand sich die Kirche von Saint-Maurice "Eu bas du mont", in der Mitte des heutigen Friedhofs, es war die Pfarrkirche. Im Jahr 1662 wurde mit Genehmigung des Bischofs von Lausanne (CH), von dem die Pfarrei abhing, an der heutigen Stelle eine erste Kirche errichtet, die von Ste-Catherine des Hôpitaux-Neufs abhängig war. Tot 1622 stond de kerk van Saint-Maurice "Eu bas du mont", in het midden van het huidige kerkhof, het was de parochiekerk. In 1662 werd met toestemming van de bisschop van Lausanne (CH), waarvan de parochie afhankelijk was, een eerste kerk gebouwd op de huidige plaats, als dependance van St Catherine des Hôpitaux-Neufs. Bedreigd met ruïne werd dit eerste gebouw vervangen door het huidige, dat door zijn stijl en ligging perfect aansluit bij de oude vestingwerken. Hasta 1622, la iglesia de Saint-Maurice estaba situada "Eu bas du mont", en medio del actual cementerio, era la iglesia parroquial.
