Eglise de Saint Jacques le majeur – Bergouey-Viellenave

Situé en pays charnègue, à mi-chemin entre Bidache et Saint Palais, Bergouey Viellenave est un lieu de passage des pèlerins jacquaires sur la voie de Tours. Au XIIe et XIIIe siècle, une importante activité religieuse se développe, et laisse comme témoignage architectural l’église. Construite au milieu du XIIIe siècle, cette ancienne chapelle était rattachée à un prieuré hôpital. Marquée par le passage du style roman au style gothique, on y découvre un plan allongé à nef unique, un chevet à trois pans, et un vitrail de Saint Jacques le majeur. Le portail est remarquable, avec un tympan en arcs jumelés en plein-cintre orné et d’une clef pendante décorée. A l’extérieur, se trouvent une tour d'escalier polygonale et trois stèles discoïdales scellées au mur. Classée Monument Historique en 1920, un bel ensemble patrimonial à découvrir avec le pont et le moulin cités dès le XIIe siècle !

Bergouey Viellenave liegt in der Region Charnègue, auf halbem Weg zwischen Bidache und Saint Palais, und ist ein Durchgangsort für Jakobspilger auf dem Weg nach Tours. Im 12. und 13. Jahrhundert entwickelte sich eine bedeutende religiöse Aktivität, die als architektonisches Zeugnis die Kirche hinterließ. Die Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts erbaute ehemalige Kapelle war an ein Priorat-Hospital angeschlossen. Geprägt durch den Übergang vom romanischen zum gotischen Stil, findet man hier einen langgestreckten Grundriss mit einem einzigen Schiff, ein dreiteiliges Kopfende und ein Glasfenster mit dem Heiligen Jakobus dem Älteren. Bemerkenswert ist das Portal mit einem Tympanon aus verzierten Zwillingsrundbögen und einem verzierten hängenden Schlüssel. Bergouey Viellenave, gelegen in de Charnègue streek, halverwege Bidache en Saint Palais, is een plaats waar pelgrims op de Tours route langskomen. In de 12e en 13e eeuw ontwikkelde zich een belangrijke religieuze activiteit, waarbij de kerk als architectonische getuigenis overbleef. Deze oude kapel, gebouwd in het midden van de 13e eeuw, was verbonden aan een priorij. Gemarkeerd door de overgang van de Romaanse naar de Gotische stijl, heeft het een langwerpige plattegrond met een enkel schip, een driezijdig chevet en een glas-in-loodraam van de heilige Jacobus de Meerdere. Het portaal is opmerkelijk, met een timpaan van twee bogen en een versierde hangende sleutel. Buiten staat een veelhoekige traptoren en drie schijfvormige steles in de muur. In 1920 geclassificeerd als Historisch Monument, is dit een prachtig erfgoed om te ontdekken, samen met de brug en de molen die al in de 12e eeuw

Construida a mediados del siglo XIII, esta antigua capilla estaba anexa a un priorato hospitalario. Marcada por la transición del estilo románico al gótico, tiene una planta alargada con una sola nave, una cabecera de tres lados y una vidriera de Santiago el Mayor. Destaca el portal, con un tímpano formado por arcos de medio punto decorados con una llave colgante. Nei secoli XII e XIII si sviluppò un'importante attività religiosa che ha lasciato la chiesa come testimonianza architettonica. Costruita a metà del XIII secolo, questa antica cappella era annessa a un priorato ospedaliero. Segnata dal passaggio dallo stile romanico a quello gotico, presenta una pianta allungata a navata unica, un chevet a tre lati e una vetrata di San Giacomo Maggiore. Notevole è il portale, con un timpano formato da archi semicircolari decorati da una chiave pendente. All'esterno si trovano una torre scalare poligonale e tre stele discoidali incastonate nel muro. Classificato come Monumento Storico nel 1920, questo è un bellissimo patrimonio da scoprire, insieme al ponte e al mulino menzionati già nel XII secolo!
