Chapelle Saint-Hubert – Courcelles-le-Roi

D’architecture très simple, l'édifice mentionné depuis 1271 est accolé au sud du chœur inachevé. La chapelle actuelle fut consacrée par l’archevêque de Sens en 1656, et fit l’objet d’important pèlerinage jusqu’au XIXe siècle. C’est son décor intérieur polychrome, plein de charme, qui est exceptionnel : les murs et le plafond sont entièrement revêtus de peintures murales d’inspiration populaire, représentant dans la partie ouest la légende de saint Hubert, tandis que sur la voûte figurent le Christ en majesté et la colombe du Saint-Esprit. Dans un décor architecturé en trompe-l’oeil, sont représentés des saints tutélaires : Apolline, Geneviève, Antoine, Emérenciène, Fiacre, Grégoire, Firmin, Catherine, Marguerite et Hubert.

Of very simple architecture, the building mentioned since 1271 is adjoined to the south of the unfinished choir. The present-day chapel was consecrated by the Archbishop of Sens in 1656, and was a popular place of pilgrimage until the 19th century. What makes the chapel so exceptional is its charming polychrome interior: the walls and ceiling are entirely covered with folk-inspired mural paintings, depicting the legend of Saint Hubert in the western section, while the vault features Christ in majesty and the dove of the Holy Spirit. A trompe-l?oeil architectural decor features the patron saints Apolline, Geneviève, Antoine, Emérenciène, Fiacre, Grégoire, Firmin, Catherine, Marguerite and Hubert.

Das seit 1271 erwähnte Gebäude ist von sehr einfacher Architektur und wurde südlich an den unvollendeten Chor angebaut. Die heutige Kapelle wurde 1656 vom Erzbischof von Sens geweiht und war bis ins 19. Jahrhundert Gegenstand zahlreicher Pilgerfahrten. Außergewöhnlich ist die charmante polychrome Innenausstattung: Die Wände und die Decke sind vollständig mit volkstümlichen Wandmalereien bedeckt, die im westlichen Teil die Legende des Heiligen Hubertus darstellen, während auf dem Gewölbe der majestätische Christus und die Taube des Heiligen Geistes zu sehen sind. In einem architektonischen Trompe-l'oeil-Dekor sind Schutzheilige dargestellt: Apolline, Geneviève, Antoine, Emérenciène, Fiacre, Grégoire, Firmin, Catherine, Marguerite und Hubertus.

Kapel, volledig bedekt met wandschilderingen uit de 17e eeuw, opmerkelijke glas-in-loodramen uit dezelfde tijd. Gebouw naast het onafgemaakte koor uit de 15e eeuw.

Capilla totalmente cubierta con pinturas murales del siglo XVII y espléndidas vidrieras de la misma época. En un edificio adyacente se puede visitar el coro inacabado del siglo XV.

Di architettura molto semplice, l'edificio menzionato dal 1271 è annesso a sud del coro incompiuto. L'attuale cappella fu consacrata dall'arcivescovo di Sens nel 1656 e fu un popolare luogo di pellegrinaggio fino al XIX secolo. La sua decorazione interna policroma, ricca di fascino, è eccezionale: le pareti e il soffitto sono interamente ricoperti da pitture murali di ispirazione popolare che raffigurano la leggenda di Sant'Uberto nella sezione occidentale, mentre la volta presenta Cristo in maestà e la colomba dello Spirito Santo. In un decoro architettonico trompe-l'oeil, sono rappresentati i santi patroni: Apolline, Geneviève, Antoine, Emérenciène, Fiacre, Grégoire, Firmin, Catherine, Marguerite e Hubert.
