CHAPELLE SAINT-CHARLES – Paimbœuf

La chapelle Saint-Charles, construite avant le milieu du XVIIIème siècle, est accolée à l'hôpital et accueillait à la fois les malades et les fidèles du quartier. La plupart des aumôniers servant pour la chapelle de l'Hospice étaient irlandais. Durant la Révolution, elle est transformée en grenier pour les troupes républicaines. Une fois les tourments de la Révolution passés, elle reprend son but initial.  Pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, elle est occupée (et saccagée) par la Kommandantur. Petit à petit, elle n’est plus utilisée que par les fidèles en fin d’après-midi pour assister au chapelet. Elle ferme au public en 2001, et est désacralisée. La municipalité l’achète pour 1€ symbolique en 2009. Ce lieu de culte, était autrefois ouvert sur la salle des malades qui pouvaient ainsi assister aux offices derrière des balustres en bois. La chapelle comprend une nef et un chevet plat avec une couverture en tuiles. L’intérieur est couvert de voûtes lambrissées avec fermes apparentes. Le chœur renferme un autel-tabernacle et un retable polychromé avec un tableau de 1743 au centre représentant Saint-Charles-Borromé, offert à la suite de la peste de 1720. Ces deux objets d’art précieux sont inscrits depuis 2023 au titre de monuments historiques. Entre 2022 et 2024, la chapelle Saint-Charles a été entièrement restaurée sous l'impulsion de la muncipalité. La restauration a été entreprise grâce à un grand appel aux dons et à l’aide de la Fondation du Patrimoine, ce qui a permis à des contributeurs privés de contibuer à cette rénovation. Mais aussi grâce au soutien du club des mécénes de Loire Atlantique, la Fondation Total Energie, le Département, l’État ou encore la DRAC. L’Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire a également soutenu le projet en donnant un concert dans le cadre des JEP à Paimboeuf. Au final 90% de cette rénovation a été financée par des sources extérieures à la commune. Ce qui montre un réel soutien et intérêt pour ce beau projet ! Afin de la protéger la chapelle est fermée aux visiteurs en dehors des évènements ou des visites prévues, n'hésitez pas à consulter notre agenda ou à nous contacter pour connaître ses dates d'ouverture. The Saint-Charles chapel, built before the middle of the 18th century, adjoined the hospital and welcomed both the sick and the faithful of the neighborhood. Most of the chaplains serving in the Hospice chapel were Irish. During the French Revolution, the chapel was converted into a granary for Republican troops. Once the turmoil of the Revolution had passed, it returned to its original purpose. During the Second World War, it was occupied (and ransacked) by the Kommandantur. Gradually, it was used only by the faithful in the late afternoons to attend the rosary. It closed to the public in 2001, and was desacralized. In 2009, the municipality bought it for a symbolic ?1. In the past, this place of worship opened onto the ward, where patients could attend services behind wooden balusters. The chapel comprises a nave and a flat chevet with a tiled roof. The interior is covered with panelled vaults with exposed trusses. The choir contains an altar-tabernacle and a polychrome altarpiece with a 1743 painting of Saint-Charles-Borromé in the center, donated following the plague of 1720. These two precious works of art have been listed as historic monuments since 2023. Between 2022 and 2024, the Saint-Charles chapel was completely restored at the instigation of the municipality. The restoration was undertaken thanks to a major appeal for donations and the help of the Fondation du Patrimoine, which enabled private contributors to contribute to the renovation. Die Kapelle Saint-Charles, die vor der Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts erbaut wurde, ist an das Krankenhaus angebaut und beherbergte sowohl die Kranken als auch die Gläubigen aus der Nachbarschaft. Dieses Gotteshaus war früher zum Krankensaal hin offen, so dass die Patienten hinter Holzbalustern an den Gottesdiensten teilnehmen konnten. Die Kapelle besteht aus einem Schiff und einem flachen Kopfende mit einem Ziegeldach. Das Innere ist mit getäfelten Gewölben mit sichtbaren Dachbindern bedeckt. Der Chor enthält einen Tabernakel und ein polychromiertes Altarbild mit einem Gemälde von 1743 in der Mitte, das Saint-Charles-Borromé darstellt und nach der Pest von 1720 gestiftet wurde. Diese beiden wertvollen Kunstgegenstände sind seit 2023 als historische Denkmäler registriert. Zwischen 2022 und 2024 wurde die Kapelle Saint-Charles auf Betreiben der Stadtverwaltung vollständig restauriert. Die Restaurierung wurde dank eines großen Spendenaufrufs und der Unterstützung der Fondation du Patrimoine durchgeführt, wodurch auch private Beitragszahler an der Renovierung mitwirken konnten. Aber auch der Club der Mäzene von Loire Atlantique, die Stiftung Total Energie, das Département, der Staat und die DRAC unterstützten die Restaurierung. Das Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire unterstützte das Projekt ebenfalls, indem es im Rahmen der JEP in Paimboeuf ein Konzert gab. Letztendlich wurden 90% der Renovierung von Quellen außerhalb der Gemeinde finanziert. Dies zeigt eine echte Unterstützung und Interesse für dieses schöne Projekt! Um die Kapelle zu schützen, ist sie außerhalb von Veranstaltungen oder geplanten Besuchen für Besucher geschlossen. Het stadsbestuur kocht het in 2009 voor een symbolische prijs van 1 euro. Vroeger kwam dit gebedshuis uit op de afdeling, waar patiënten achter houten balustrades diensten konden bijwonen. De kapel bestaat uit een schip en een plat gewelf met een pannendak. Het interieur is bedekt met gelambriseerde gewelven met zichtbare spanten. Het koor bevat een altaar-tabernakel en een polychroom altaarstuk met in het midden een schilderij van Saint-Charles-Borromé uit 1743, geschonken na de pest van 1720. Deze twee kostbare kunstwerken staan sinds 2023 op de monumentenlijst. Tussen 2022 en 2024 werd de kapel Saint-Charles volledig gerestaureerd op initiatief van de gemeente. De restauratie werd uitgevoerd dankzij een grote oproep tot donaties en de hulp van de Fondation du Patrimoine, waardoor particulieren konden bijdragen aan de renovatie. Het kreeg ook steun van de Club de Patroons de la Loire Atlantique, de Total Energie Foundation, het departement, de staat en de DRAC. Het Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire steunde het project ook door een concert te geven in het kader van het GEP in Paimboeuf. Uiteindelijk werd 90% van de renovatie gefinancierd door bronnen buiten de gemeente. Dit laat zien dat er echt steun en interesse is voor dit prachtige project! El coro contiene un altar-tabernáculo y un retablo policromado con un cuadro de San Carlos Borromé de 1743 en el centro, donado tras la peste de 1720. Estas dos preciosas obras de arte están catalogadas como monumentos históricos desde 2023. Entre 2022 y 2024, la capilla Saint-Charles fue completamente restaurada a instancias del ayuntamiento. La restauración se llevó a cabo gracias a un gran llamamiento a las donaciones y a la ayuda de la Fondation du Patrimoine, que permitió a contribuyentes privados contribuir a la renovación. Il coro contiene un altare-tabernacolo e una pala d'altare policroma con al centro un dipinto di Saint-Charles-Borromé del 1743, donato in seguito alla peste del 1720. Queste due preziose opere d'arte sono state inserite nella lista dei monumenti storici dal 2023.
