Description

Born in Tallinn, Estonia, in 1987, Laura Pasquino lives and works in Amsterdam, and has become known for her minimalist, organic approach to ceramic sculpture. Her work emphasizes the natural beauty of the materials she works with, combining fluid forms and raw textures. Laura Pasquino?s latest body of work for this exhibition presents a collection of some twenty sculptural works united by their exploration of form, fragility and the quiet resilience of natural processes. With their inwardly folded organic forms, the sculptures speak of narratives of growth and self-reflection.
The artist?s work is deeply rooted in an exploration of the textures, forms and rhythms of nature. Fascinated by the organic and tactile qualities of clay, she uses her skills to transform the material into structures that are both delicate and bold, creating a dialogue between earth and making. Drawing inspiration from landscapes, geological formations and the subtle movements of water and wind, Pasquino captures the dynamic tension between fragility and strength in her ceramics. The imperfections, cracks and variations that emerge spontaneously in his work are taken into account in the narrative.
Pasquino?s artistic practice engages with ancient ceramic traditions while pushing the boundaries of contemporary form. Her process is experimental, allowing the material to guide her in her search for harmony between construction and spontaneity.
Laura Pasquino?s work has been exhibited at biennials and galleries around the world, and can be found in private collections in the USA, Asia and Europe.
