Dans une chambre d’hôpital psychiatrique, au début des années 60, Lucienne Raphenne, femme vieillissante atteinte de troubles psychiques et physiques, convoque une vision : celle de Jenny Luxeuil, la jeune actrice pétillante qu’elle fut à l’époque des années folles. Cette rencontre surréaliste avec son double en devenir donne lieu à d’intenses échanges entre les deux facettes d’une même personnalité : Jenny, pleine d’élan et d’ambition, et Lucienne, fervente et désillusionnée. La pièce explore l’évolution de la société et de la condition féminine, la liberté et la foi. In a psychiatric hospital room in the early 1960s, Lucienne Raphenne, an ageing woman suffering from mental and physical problems, conjures up a vision: that of Jenny Luxeuil, the sparkling young actress she was in the Roaring Twenties. This surreal encounter with her double in the making gives rise to intense exchanges between the two sides of the same personality: Jenny, full of drive and ambition, and Lucienne, fervent and disillusioned. The play explores the evolution of society and the status of women, freedom and faith. The aim of this initiative is to pay tribute to this little-known woman, as part of a regional and departmental project, while highlighting the cultural and historical wealth of the local area.
