Description
English
Alexandre?s hallmark is his dignity in the face of adversity, rather like Beethoven or Mahler. When he plays Piano Concerto No. 4, we are moved by its central movement, a silent dialogue in which the piano seems to beg the orchestra. And with Symphony No. 6, which Mahler himself called "Tragic", we feel the full weight of destiny, which seems to herald hard times to come.
Deutsch
