Description

Lutte-s evokes resistance in the face of injustice and oppression. A solo inspired by the career of a dancer and wrestler opens the show. Then, in a festive, liberating atmosphere reminiscent of the joyous demonstrations of the Women's Liberation Movement (MLF) in the 1970s, a trio questions the place of the female body in public space. Choreographer Thierry Micouin was inspired by two encounters: with dancer and martial arts fighter Julien Fouché, and with Femen activist Sophia Sept. He draws on the body vocabulary of Gouren (Breton wrestling) and jiu jitsu, as well as on the resistant, battered bodies of Femen. Anti-capitalist and ecological movements, struggles against racism and systemic violence, LGBT+ struggles? Jostled by the different currents of these struggles, and even their divergences, the dancers question these demands with a sound score that gives pride of place to the breaths of bodies and instruments, but also to militant and emblematic rappers and singers.
