A & L, duo autoritaire à l’humour incisif, nous racontent l’histoire, avec un petit h, de la démocratie, de la Grèce antique à nos jours. On y rencontre Périclès, Sophocle, Platon, mais aussi des figures du pouvoir et de la révolte, comme Antigone et son oncle un brin tyrannique, Créon. Le public vote, selon plusieurs modes de scrutin. Il vote comme on aurait voté à Athènes au Ve siècle avant JC, il vote selon les méthodes de Condorcet ou Borda. On touche du doigt d’autres modes de scrutin que ceux pratiqués en France. Et l’on découvre qu’on pourrait tout à fait fonctionner différemment. À travers plusieurs tableaux décalés, alternant avec les votes du public, la pièce ravive des moments qui marquent et ont marqué les démocraties occidentales. Autant de moments où le pouvoir a été – ou aurait pu être – exercé par le peuple. Un clin d’oeil à Duras, un soupçon de Desproges, une touche de Monty Python, Démocratie, mon amour est une ode aux vastes déclinaisons de la démocratie ! A & L, an authoritative duo with an incisive sense of humour, tell us the story, with a small h, of democracy, from ancient Greece to the present day. We meet Pericles, Sophocles, Plato, but also figures of power and revolt, like Antigone and her slightly tyrannical uncle, Creon. The audience votes in several different ways. They vote as they would have voted in Athens in the 5th century BC, or according to the methods of Condorcet or Borda. We get a first-hand look at voting methods other than those used in France. And we discover that we could operate quite differently. Through a series of offbeat tableaux, alternating with audience votes, the play revives moments that have marked and continue to mark Western democracies. So many moments when power was – or could have been – exercised by the people. With a nod to Duras, a dash of Desproges and a touch of Monty Python, Démocratie, mon amour is an ode to the many facets of democracy! A & L, ein autoritäres Duo mit prägnantem Humor, erzählen uns die Geschichte, mit einem kleinen h, der Demokratie vom antiken Griechenland bis heute. Wir begegnen Perikles, Sophokles, Platon, aber auch Figuren der Macht und der Revolte, wie Antigone und ihrem etwas tyrannischen Onkel Kreon. Das Publikum stimmt ab, und zwar nach verschiedenen Abstimmungsarten. Es stimmt so ab, wie man im Athen des 5. Jahrhunderts v. Chr. abgestimmt hätte, es stimmt nach den Methoden von Condorcet oder Borda ab. Man bekommt einen Eindruck von anderen Wahlverfahren als denen, die in Frankreich praktiziert werden. Und man entdeckt, dass man durchaus auch anders vorgehen könnte. In mehreren schrägen Bildern, die sich mit den Stimmen des Publikums abwechseln, lässt das Stück Momente wieder aufleben, die die westlichen Demokratien prägen und geprägt haben. All diese Momente, in denen die Macht vom Volk ausgeübt wurde – oder hätte ausgeübt werden können. A & L, een autoritair duo met een scherp gevoel voor humor, vertellen ons de geschiedenis, met een kleine h, van de democratie, van het oude Griekenland tot nu. We ontmoeten Pericles, Sophocles, Plato, maar ook figuren van macht en opstand, zoals Antigone en haar ietwat tirannieke oom Creon. Het publiek stemt op verschillende manieren. Ze stemmen zoals ze zouden hebben gestemd in Athene in de 5e eeuw voor Christus, of volgens de methodes van Condorcet of Borda. We krijgen uit de eerste hand een kijkje in andere stemmethodes dan die in Frankrijk. En we ontdekken dat we heel anders zouden kunnen werken. Door middel van een reeks ongebruikelijke tableaus, afgewisseld met stemmen van het publiek, herleeft het stuk momenten die de Westerse democratieën hebben getekend en nog steeds tekenen. Nos encontramos con Pericles, Sófocles, Platón, pero también con figuras del poder y de la revuelta, como Antígona y su tío Creonte, un poco tirano. El público vota de varias maneras. Votan como habrían votado en Atenas en el siglo V a.C., o según los métodos de Condorcet o Borda. Conocemos de primera mano métodos de votación distintos de los utilizados en Francia. Incontriamo Pericle, Sofocle, Platone, ma anche figure di potere e di rivolta, come Antigone e il suo zio un po' tirannico, Creonte. Il pubblico vota in diversi modi. Votano come avrebbero votato ad Atene nel V secolo a.C., oppure secondo i metodi di Condorcet o Borda. Abbiamo la possibilità di toccare con mano metodi di voto diversi da quelli utilizzati in Francia. E scopriamo che potremmo operare in modo molto diverso. Attraverso una serie di tableaux stravaganti, alternati alle votazioni del pubblico, lo spettacolo fa rivivere momenti che hanno segnato e continuano a segnare le democrazie occidentali. Tanti momenti in cui il potere è stato – o avrebbe potuto essere – esercitato dal popolo.
