L'Ensemble Irini nous invite à une expérience hors du commun. Le motet Nuper rosarum flores de Guillaume Dufay est rarissime et pourtant quelle grandeur dans ce chef-d'œuvre écrit pour l'achèvement du célèbre dôme de la Cathédrale de Florence ! Avec Janua, la cheffe Lila Hajosi réconcilie les deux églises du quinzième siècle : d'un côté, l'Occident catholique, avec les grandes polyphonies franco-flamandes, de l'autre l'Orient orthodoxe, avec les longues lignes du chant byzantin. De Manuel Doukas Chrysaphes, O Theos, Ilthosan Ethni est une sublime lamentation écrite juste après la prise de Constantinople par les Ottomans en 1453. Deux magnifiques univers sonores, deux visions du sacré réunies ici à la manière d'un trait d'union. Les neufs voix d'Irini accompagnées de trompettes et sacqueboutes procurent un envoûtement incomparable.

The Irini Ensemble invites us to an extraordinary experience. Guillaume Dufay’s motet *Nuper rosarum flores* is extremely rare, yet what grandeur is found in this masterpiece, composed to mark the completion of the famous dome of Florence Cathedral! With *Janua*, conductor Lila Hajosi reconciles the two churches of the fifteenth century: on the one hand, the Catholic West, with its great Franco-Flemish polyphonies; on the other, the Orthodox East, with the long lines of Byzantine chant. By Manuel Doukas Chrysaphes, *O Theos, Ilthosan Ethni* is a sublime lament written shortly after the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in 1453. Two magnificent soundscapes, two visions of the sacred, are brought together here as if by a hyphen. Irini’s nine voices, accompanied by trumpets and sackbuts, create an incomparable sense of enchantment.

Das Ensemble Irini lädt uns zu einem außergewöhnlichen Erlebnis ein. Die Motette „Nuper rosarum flores“ von Guillaume Dufay ist äußerst selten, und doch – welche Erhabenheit liegt in diesem Meisterwerk, das anlässlich der Fertigstellung der berühmten Kuppel der Kathedrale von Florenz komponiert wurde! Mit „Janua“ bringt die Dirigentin Lila Hajosi die beiden Kirchen des 15. Jahrhunderts wieder zusammen: auf der einen Seite den katholischen Westen mit der großen französisch-flämischen Polyphonie, auf der anderen Seite den orthodoxen Osten mit den langen Melodielinien des byzantinischen Gesangs. „O Theos, Ilthosan Ethni“ von Manuel Doukas Chrysaphes ist eine erhabene Klagelied, das unmittelbar nach der Eroberung Konstantinopels durch die Osmanen im Jahr 1453 verfasst wurde. Zwei großartige Klangwelten, zwei Visionen des Heiligen, die hier wie durch ein Bindeglied vereint werden. Die neun Stimmen von Irini, begleitet von Trompeten und Posaunen, sorgen für einen unvergleichlichen Hörgenuss.

Het motet *Nuper rosarum flores* van Guillaume Dufay is uiterst zeldzaam, maar wat een grootsheid schuilt er in dit meesterwerk, dat werd geschreven ter gelegenheid van de voltooiing van de beroemde koepel van de kathedraal van Florence! Met *Janua* brengt dirigente Lila Hajosi de twee kerken van de vijftiende eeuw met elkaar in verzoening: enerzijds het katholieke Westen, met de grote Frans-Vlaamse polyfonie, anderzijds het orthodoxe Oosten, met de lange lijnen van de Byzantijnse zang. Van Manuel Doukas Chrysaphes is „O Theos, Ilthosan Ethni“ een sublieme klaagzang, geschreven vlak na de verovering van Constantinopel door de Ottomanen in 1453. Twee prachtige klankwerelden, twee visies op het sacrale, hier verenigd als een verbindende schakel. De negen stemmen van Irini, begeleid door trompetten en sacqueboutes, zorgen voor een onvergelijkbare betovering.
