Description

One hour, one perspective. Join us one Tuesday a month to explore a work of art, an artist, or a theme with a guide for about 30 minutes. The discussion then continues with everyone together at the museum restaurant. Enjoy! **Tuesday, April 13, 2027, at 12:30 p.m., discover our textile and fashion collection through the exhibition** [**Nature Textile**](https://www.roubaix-lapiscine.com/exposition/nature-textile/) The abundance of nature and its symbolism fascinated the Pre-Raphaelite artists, who made it one of their favorite subjects. In their works, budding roses, lush meadows, and verdant trees grow discreetly around pensive or dreamy figures. Worn as a wreath to adorn the hair during ceremonies in antiquity, the plant world has, over the centuries and through technological advances, become an integral part of clothing. Regardless of whether the depiction is botanical or fanciful, it is intricately linked to the history of the fabric.
For the spring season and in conjunction with the exhibition “Pre-Raphaelite: Women Travelers,” the first floor of the Bassin brings to life a mosaic of textile gardens. Nature thrives just as well on the canvas of a painting as it does on the weave of a fabric! An exhibition to discover from March 6 to September 19, 2027 **NEW OFFER: Bring your own cold meal, and the museum will treat you to a non-alcoholic beverage and a hot drink!**
