Le Mont de Marcilly se situe à la croisée de deux influences climatiques (submontagnarde et méditerranéenne) qui explique la richesse floristique du secteur : 4 espèces protégées, de nombreuses orchidées dont l'orchis bouc. Le sentier permet la découverte d'une flore riche, mais également d'une faune typique sur 1500 m avec très beau panorama au sommet.
