Site archéologique d'Aubigné Racan – Aubigné-Racan

Il connaît une longue période d'occupation à l'époque protohistorique, puis, après la conquête romaine, se dote d'une importante parure monumentale, lieu de rencontres saisonnières, commerciales et religieuses. Les fouilles entreprises depuis 1977 par C. Lambert et J. Rioufreyt ont permis de mettre au jour un théâtre antique (MH), deux temples (dont l'un n'est plus visible actuellement), des thermes, un marché-forum et un aqueduc. Ce site propose un cheminement accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite et une signalétique présentant les vestiges.

It was occupied for a long period during the protohistoric period, and then, after the Roman conquest, it acquired an important monumental ornament, a place for seasonal, commercial and religious meetings. The excavations undertaken since 1977 by C. Lambert and J. Rioufreyt have brought to light an ancient theatre (MH), two temples (one of which is no longer visible today), baths, a market-forum and an aqueduct. This site offers a pathway accessible to people with reduced mobility and a signpost presenting the remains.

In der frühgeschichtlichen Zeit erlebte es eine lange Besiedlungsphase, nach der römischen Eroberung wurde es mit einem bedeutenden Monumentalschmuck versehen und war ein Ort für jahreszeitliche, kommerzielle und religiöse Treffen. Die seit 1977 von C. Lambert und J. Rioufreyt durchgeführten Ausgrabungen haben ein antikes Theater (MH), zwei Tempel (von denen einer heute nicht mehr sichtbar ist), Thermen, ein Marktforum und ein Aquädukt zutage gefördert.
