Créée au 1er siècle avant JC, la capitale de l'Aquitaine Lugdunum Convenae occupait une superficie de 36 ha pour une population estimée entre 10 000 et 15 000 habitants. Les plus anciens vestiges retrouvés sur le site datent de l'empereur Auguste (-27 ; 14).
Seule une partie du patrimoine antique est aujourd'hui visible, comme les thermes, le marché ou le théâtre.

Created in the 1st century BC, the capital of Aquitaine Lugdunum Convenae occupied an area of 36 ha with an estimated population of between 10,000 and 15,000 inhabitants. The oldest remains found on the site date back to the Emperor Augustus (-27; 14).
Only a part of the ancient heritage is visible today, such as the thermal baths, the market or the theatre.

Das Musée archéologique départemental in Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges wurde 1985 gegründet und ist eine Konservierungseinrichtung, die mit der Ausgrabungsstätte Lugdunum, dem antiken Hauptort der Stadt der Konviner, verbunden ist. Parallel zu seinen Studien- und Konservierungsaufgaben empfängt das Team des Musée archéologique départemental Forscher, Profis oder Amateure und setzt sein Programm für temporäre Ausstellungen fort.

De hoofdstad van Aquitanië, Lugdunum Convenae, werd opgericht in de 1e eeuw v.Chr. en besloeg een oppervlakte van 36 ha met een geschatte bevolking van 10.000 tot 15.000 inwoners. De oudste overblijfselen die op het terrein zijn gevonden, dateren uit de tijd van keizer Augustus (27-14 v.Chr.).
Slechts een deel van het oude erfgoed is nog zichtbaar, zoals de baden, de markt of het theater.
