Village typique du Ried – Dérivé de l’alémanique « Rieth » qui signifie jonc (roseau), le terme Ried s’applique par extension aux paysages de prés inondables et de forêts à la végétation luxuriante. Ainsi le Ried, abrite une flore remarquable et une faune diversifiée parmi laquelle de nombreux oiseaux. Mais sa principale caractéristique est l’omniprésence de l’eau. En effet, affleurant en de nombreux endroits sous forme de sources phréatiques, la nappe souterraine donnant naissance à mille petits cours d’eau sillonnant la région.

Typical Ried village – Derived from the Alemannic word "Rieth" meaning reed, the term Ried is applied by extension to landscapes of floodplain meadows and forests with lush vegetation. The Ried is home to a remarkable flora and diverse fauna, including numerous birds. But its main characteristic is the omnipresence of water. In many places, the water table emerges in the form of groundwater springs, giving rise to a thousand small streams that criss-cross the region.

Typisches Dorf im Ried – Der Begriff Ried leitet sich vom alemannischen Wort "Rieth" ab, das Schilf bedeutet, und wird im weiteren Sinne auf Landschaften mit überschwemmten Wiesen und Wäldern mit üppiger Vegetation angewandt. So beherbergt das Ried eine bemerkenswerte Flora und eine vielfältige Fauna, darunter zahlreiche Vögel. Sein Hauptmerkmal ist jedoch die Allgegenwärtigkeit des Wassers. Das Grundwasser tritt an vielen Stellen in Form von Grundwasserquellen zutage und bildet tausende von kleinen Wasserläufen, die die Region durchziehen.

De Ried herbergt een opmerkelijke verscheidenheid aan flora en fauna, waaronder veel vogels. Maar het belangrijkste kenmerk is de alomtegenwoordigheid van water. Op veel plaatsen komt het water naar boven in de vorm van grondwaterbronnen, waardoor duizend kleine beekjes ontstaan die de regio doorkruisen.
