Le nom de ce village est composé de Ach=Bach et de mits, mitz qui signifie Mitte=milieu. Mitzach est donc le ruisseau du milieu recevant ceux des deux côtés. Mentionné dès 1394 dans les registres de l'abbaye de Murbach, Mitzach se situe au fond d'un coquet vallon s'ouvrant sur la colline surmontée des ruines du Stoerenburg, ancien château des princes-abbés de Murbach, construit au XIV siècle et détruit en 1637. Le Hirchen bacherkopf offre un merveilleux point de vue sur toute la haute vallée de la Thur, jusqu'au Grand Ballon. Ses nombreuses fontaines, la richesse de sa flore et la roche dite Grauwacke font l'intérêt et la joie des enfants et des touristes. L'église de Mitzach est dédiée à Saint Dominique.

The village's name is made up of Ach=Bach and mits, mitz meaning Mitte=middle. Mitzach is therefore the middle stream, which receives streams from both sides. Mentioned as early as 1394 in the registers of the Abbey of Murbach, Mitzach lies at the bottom of a pretty valley opening onto the hill topped by the ruins of the Stoerenburg, the former castle of the prince-abbots of Murbach, built in the 14th century and destroyed in 1637. The Hirchen bacherkopf offers a marvellous view over the entire upper Thur valley, all the way to the Grand Ballon. Its many fountains, rich flora and Grauwacke rock are a delight for children and tourists alike. The church in Mitzach is dedicated to Saint Dominique.

Der Name des Dorfes setzt sich aus Ach=Bach und mits, mitz zusammen, was Mitte=Mitte bedeutet. Mitzach ist also der Mittelbach, der die Bäche von beiden Seiten aufnimmt. Mitzach wurde bereits 1394 in den Registern der Abtei Murbach erwähnt und liegt am Ende eines hübschen Tals auf einem Hügel, auf dem sich die Ruinen der Stoerenburg befinden, der ehemaligen Burg der Fürstäbte von Murbach, die im 14. Der Hirchen bacherkopf bietet einen wunderbaren Ausblick auf das gesamte obere Thurtal bis hin zum Grand Ballon. Seine zahlreichen Brunnen, die reiche Flora und der sogenannte Grauwacke-Felsen sind für Kinder und Touristen gleichermaßen interessant und erfreulich. Die Kirche von Mitzach ist dem Heiligen Dominikus geweiht.
