Le Pont dit "Romain" – Châteauponsac

Enjambant la Gartempe au sur du bourg de Châteauponsac, le pont dit « romain » invite à remonter le fil du temps. Malgré son nom évocateur, ce pont ne date pas de l’époque gallo-romaine, même s’il en garde quelques traces discrètes, comme ces pierres anciennes réemployées et sa proximité avec une antique voie romaine. L’ouvrage actuel fut érigé au début du XVIIe siècle sur les fondations d’un pont du XIe siècle, construit par les moines qui ont également construit l'église, alors fragilisé par le temps. Lui-même succédant à une première passerelle, vraisemblablement en bois, utilisée à l’époque gallo-romaine. Véritable témoin de l’histoire locale, ce pont de caractère mêle légendes et héritage, et offre aujourd’hui une traversée pleine de charme en direction ou en provenance de Saint-Pardoux, au cœur d’une nature apaisante.

Spanning the Gartempe River above the village of Châteauponsac, the so-called "Roman" bridge invites you to step back in time. Despite its evocative name, the bridge does not date back to Gallo-Roman times, although it does retain a few discreet traces, such as the reuse of ancient stones and its proximity to an ancient Roman road. The present structure was erected in the early 17th century on the foundations of an 11th-century bridge, built by the monks who also built the church. The bridge itself is the successor to an earlier footbridge, probably made of wood, used in Gallo-Roman times. A true witness to local history, this bridge of character blends legends and heritage, and today offers a charming crossing to and from Saint-Pardoux, in the heart of soothing natural surroundings.

Die sogenannte "römische" Brücke über die Gartempe am Ortsrand von Châteauponsac lädt zu einer Reise in die Vergangenheit ein. Trotz ihres vielsagenden Namens stammt die Brücke nicht aus der gallo-römischen Epoche, auch wenn sie einige diskrete Spuren aufweist, wie die wiederverwendeten alten Steine und ihre Nähe zu einer alten römischen Straße. Jahrhunderts auf den Fundamenten einer Brücke aus dem 11. Jahrhundert errichtet, die von den Mönchen, die auch die Kirche errichteten, gebaut worden war und die im Laufe der Zeit brüchig wurde. Diese wiederum war der Nachfolger einer ersten Brücke, die vermutlich aus Holz bestand und in der gallo-römischen Zeit benutzt wurde. Diese charaktervolle Brücke ist ein echtes Zeugnis der lokalen Geschichte, in der sich Legenden und Erbe vermischen, und bietet heute eine reizvolle Überquerung von und nach Saint-Pardoux inmitten einer beruhigenden Natur.

De zogenaamde "Romeinse" brug over de Gartempe boven de stad Châteauponsac nodigt je uit om terug te gaan in de tijd. Ondanks de suggestieve naam dateert de brug niet uit het Gallo-Romeinse tijdperk, hoewel er wel enkele discrete sporen uit die periode zijn, zoals de oude stenen die opnieuw zijn gebruikt en de nabijheid van een oude Romeinse weg. De huidige structuur werd gebouwd aan het begin van de 17e eeuw op de fundamenten van een 11e-eeuwse brug, gebouwd door de monniken die ook de kerk bouwden, maar verzwakt door het verstrijken van de tijd. De brug zelf is de opvolger van een eerdere loopbrug, waarschijnlijk van hout, die in de Gallo-Romeinse tijd werd gebruikt. Deze karaktervolle brug, een echte getuige van de plaatselijke geschiedenis, mengt legenden en erfgoed en biedt vandaag de dag een charmante oversteek van en naar Saint-Pardoux, in het hart van een rustgevende natuurlijke omgeving.

El llamado puente "romano", que cruza el río Gartempe por encima de la ciudad de Châteauponsac, invita a retroceder en el tiempo. A pesar de su evocador nombre, el puente no data de la época galo-romana, aunque conserva algunas discretas huellas de ese periodo, como las piedras antiguas reutilizadas y su proximidad a una antigua calzada romana. La estructura actual se construyó a principios del siglo XVII sobre los cimientos de un puente del siglo XI, construido por los monjes que también edificaron la iglesia, pero debilitado por el paso del tiempo. El puente en sí es el sucesor de una pasarela anterior, probablemente de madera, utilizada en época galo-romana. Auténtico testigo de la historia local, este puente de carácter mezcla leyendas y patrimonio, y ofrece hoy una encantadora travesía hacia y desde Saint-Pardoux, en el corazón de un apacible entorno natural.

Il ponte cosiddetto "romano", che attraversa il fiume Gartempe sopra la città di Châteauponsac, invita a fare un salto nel tempo. Nonostante il nome evocativo, il ponte non risale all'epoca gallo-romana, anche se presenta alcune discrete tracce di quel periodo, come le antiche pietre riutilizzate e la vicinanza a un'antica strada romana. L'attuale struttura è stata costruita all'inizio del XVII secolo sulle fondamenta di un ponte dell'XI secolo, realizzato dai monaci che costruirono anche la chiesa, ma indebolito dal passare del tempo. Il ponte stesso è il successore di una precedente passerella, probabilmente in legno, utilizzata in epoca gallo-romana. Vero e proprio testimone della storia locale, questo ponte di carattere mescola leggende e patrimonio, e oggi offre un affascinante passaggio da e per Saint-Pardoux, nel cuore di un rilassante ambiente naturale.
