La Fondation Saint-John Perse conserve et met en valeur les collections léguées en 1975 à la ville d'Aix-en-Provence par le poète prix Nobel de littérature 1960. Né en 1887 à Pointe à Pitre en Guadeloupe, mort à Giens en 1975, Alexis Leger, diplomate "grand ouvrier" de l'Europe, est plus connu sous le nom de plume de Saint-John Perse. Ces collections rassemblent plus de 15 000 documents. La Fondation met en valeur ce patrimoine par des expositions régulières. Sur place, une bibliothèque de recherche, une salle d'exposition, une maison d'édition, un lieu ouvert pour toutes les formes d'art illustrant la création poétique : rencontres avec des écrivains, expositions d'art contemporain, lectures, conférences, colloques. La Fondation est située à proximité du centre-ville, à quelques pas de la gare routière, à l'intérieur de la Cité du Livre, face à la section adultes de la Bibliothèque Méjanes. The Saint John Perse Foundation conserves and exhibits the collections bequeathed to the city of Aix en Provence in 1975 by the poet who was awarded the Nobel prize for literature in 1960. Alexis Leger, a leading European diplomat, was born in Pointe à Pitre, Guadeloupe, in 1887 and died in Giens in 1975 he is better known by the pen-name Saint John Perse. These collections comprise more than 15,000 documents. The Foundation holds regular exhibitions to display this heritage. The Foundation includes a research library, a museum, a publishing house, and an open area for all forms of art illustrating poetic creation: meetings with writers, exhibitions of contemporary art, lectures, talks and conferences.

Die Fondation Saint-John Perse bewahrt und präsentiert die Sammlungen, die der Dichter, der 1960 den Nobelpreis für Literatur erhielt, 1975 der Stadt Aix-en-Provence vermacht hat. Der 1887 in Pointe à Pitre auf Guadeloupe geborene und 1975 in Giens gestorbene Alexis Leger, Diplomat und "großer Arbeiter" Europas, ist besser bekannt unter dem Künstlernamen Saint-John Perse. Diese Sammlungen umfassen mehr als 15.000 Dokumente. Die Stiftung bringt dieses Erbe durch regelmäßige Ausstellungen zur Geltung. Vor Ort gibt es eine Forschungsbibliothek, einen Ausstellungsraum, ein Verlagshaus und einen offenen Ort für alle Kunstformen, die das poetische Schaffen veranschaulichen: Begegnungen mit Schriftstellern, Ausstellungen zeitgenössischer Kunst, Lesungen, Vorträge, Kolloquien. Die Stiftung befindet sich in der Nähe des Stadtzentrums, nur wenige Schritte vom Busbahnhof entfernt, innerhalb der Cité du Livre, gegenüber der Erwachsenenabteilung der Bibliothèque Méjanes. Hij was diplomaat en een "grote werker" van Europa, en is beter bekend onder zijn pseudoniem Saint-John Perse. Deze collecties bevatten meer dan 15.000 documenten. De Stichting promoot dit erfgoed door middel van regelmatige tentoonstellingen. Ter plaatse, een onderzoeksbibliotheek, een tentoonstellingsruimte, een uitgeverij, een plaats die openstaat voor alle vormen van kunst die de poëtische creatie illustreren: ontmoetingen met schrijvers, tentoonstellingen van hedendaagse kunst, lezingen, conferenties, symposia. De Stichting bevindt zich nabij het stadscentrum, op enkele passen van het busstation, in de Cité du Livre, tegenover de volwassenenafdeling van de Méjanes-bibliotheek.
