Église Saint-Leu – Sévigny-Waleppe

L'église actuelle a été construite au XIIIe siècle.Lors d'un épisode des guerres de religion en 1576, l'église et ses occupant ont été brûlés.L'édifice n'était pas fortifié à l'époque.La tour-porche carrée est construite au frais des habitants. La particularité de cette tour est qu'elle n'est pas devant la nef mais au-dessus.

The present-day church was built in the 13th century, and was burnt down in 1576 during the Wars of Religion. The building was not fortified at the time, and the square tower-porch was built at local expense. The particularity of this tower is that it is not in front of the nave, but above it.

Die heutige Kirche wurde im 13. Jahrhundert erbaut.Während einer Episode der Religionskriege im Jahr 1576 wurden die Kirche und ihre Bewohner niedergebrannt.Das Gebäude war zu dieser Zeit nicht befestigt.Der quadratische Portalturm wurde auf Kosten der Einwohner gebaut. Das Besondere an diesem Turm ist, dass er sich nicht vor dem Kirchenschiff, sondern darüber befindet.

De huidige kerk werd gebouwd in de 13e eeuw, maar tijdens de godsdienstoorlogen in 1576 werden de kerk en haar bewoners platgebrand. Het gebouw was toen niet versterkt en de vierkante torenpoort werd op kosten van de inwoners gebouwd. Het bijzondere aan deze toren is dat hij niet voor het schip staat, maar erboven.
