Censé guérir les maladies liées aux yeux, le saint semble implorer le ciel pendant qu’à ses pieds un enfant lui désigne ses yeux malades. Au XIVe siècle, l’église Saint-Pierre de Boos délaisse son patron original pour se consacrer à saint Clair, dont la fontaine miraculeuse attire les pèlerins jusqu’au XXe siècle. Grâce aux éphémères bénéfices engendrés par la plantation et l’exploitation des pins dans la région, l’église est totalement reconstruite en 1903.
