Eglise Saint Jean Baptiste – Chevry-sous-le-Bignon

Niché dans le fond de la verdoyante vallée de la Betz, Chevry-sous-le-Bignon est un village plein de charme qui a conservé son bâti ancien et ses maisons de bourg soigneusement restaurées. Chevry-sous-le-Bignon entretient amoureusement son environnement naturel et son petit patrimoine. Ainsi le beau lavoir communal construit en 1903 en contrebas du pont de Baslin, a-t-il été restauré et remis en valeur. Ainsi que le porche en pierre du cimetière : le fronton qui surmonte le portail est peint, et porte en triangle, encadrant la date de construction (1892) la devise républicaine inhabituelle en ces lieux : LIBERTE, EGALITE, FRATERNITE, REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE. Deux moulins, aujourd’hui résidences privées, étaient en activité sur la rive du Betz : le moulin du bourg et celui de Fouchereau.

As well as the stone porch of the cemetery: the pediment which surmounts the portal is painted, and carries in triangle, framing the date of construction (1892) the republican motto unusual in these places: FREEDOM, EQUALITY, FRATERNITY, FRENCH REPUBLIC Two mills, now private residences, were in operation on the banks of the Betz: the mill of the village and that of Fouchereau.

Evenals het stenen portaal van het kerkhof: het fronton dat boven de poort uitsteekt, is beschilderd en draagt in een driehoek de bouwdatum (1892) en het republikeinse devies dat in deze contreien ongebruikelijk is: LIBERTY, EGALITY, FRATERNITY, FRENCH REPUBLIC Aan de oever van de Betz waren twee molens in bedrijf, nu particuliere woningen: de molen van het dorp en die van Fouchereau.

Al igual que el pórtico de piedra del cementerio: el frontón que corona la puerta está pintado, y lleva en un triángulo, enmarcando la fecha de construcción (1892) el lema republicano poco habitual en estos lares: LIBERTAD, EGALIDAD, FRATERNIDAD, REPÚBLICA FRANCESA En la orilla del Betz funcionaban dos molinos, hoy en día residencias privadas: el molino del pueblo y el de Fouchereau.
