Château de Fauga – Port-Sainte-Foy-et-Ponchapt

Le château de Fauga, ou château du Fauga, est un château français situé dans la commune de Port-Sainte-Foy-et-Ponchapt, dans le département de la Dordogne. Il fait l’objet d’une protection au titre des monuments historiques. Le château se trouve à la lisière du Fleix, dans l'ancienne paroisse de la Rouquette. En vieux français, « Fauga » signifie fougère. Sur le linteau de la principale porte d'entrée est sculptée une feuille de cette plante. Le château comporte un corps central flanqué de deux ailes, et une tour circulaire coiffée d'un dôme de pierre2. Il fait aujourd'hui partie d'une propriété viticole. Un second édifice, situé sur le bord de la route à 435 mètres à vol d'oiseau, porte également le nom de château de Fauga. De style quelque peu colonial et de couleur ocre, il s'agit plus d'une grosse demeure que d'un château.

The château stands on the edge of Le Fleix, in the former parish of La Rouquette. In old French, "Fauga" means fern. A fern leaf is carved on the lintel of the main entrance door. The château comprises a central body flanked by two wings, and a circular tower topped by a stone dome2. Today, it is part of a wine estate. A second building, situated on the roadside at 435 meters as the crow flies, also bears the name Château de Fauga. Somewhat colonial in style and ochre in color, it's more a large mansion than a château.

Das Château de Fauga ist ein französisches Schloss in der Gemeinde Port-Sainte-Foy-et-Ponchapt im Département Dordogne. Es ist als historisches Denkmal geschützt. Das Schloss befindet sich am Rande von Le Fleix, in der ehemaligen Pfarrei La Rouquette. Im Altfranzösischen bedeutet "Fauga" Farn. Auf dem Sturz der Haupteingangstür ist ein Blatt dieser Pflanze geschnitzt. Das Schloss besteht aus einem Hauptgebäude, das von zwei Flügeln flankiert wird, und einem runden Turm mit einer steinernen Kuppel2. Heute ist es Teil eines Weinguts. Ein zweites Gebäude, das sich am Straßenrand in 435 m Luftlinie befindet, trägt ebenfalls den Namen Château de Fauga. Es ist etwas im Kolonialstil gehalten und ockerfarben, handelt sich aber eher um ein großes Wohnhaus als um ein Schloss.

Het kasteel staat aan de rand van Le Fleix, in de voormalige parochie La Rouquette. In oud-Frans betekent "Fauga" varen. Op de bovendorpel van de hoofdingang is een varenblad gebeeldhouwd. Het kasteel bestaat uit een centrale romp geflankeerd door twee vleugels en een ronde toren met een stenen koepel2. Het maakt nu deel uit van een wijndomein. Een tweede gebouw, gelegen langs de weg op een hemelsbrede hoogte van 435 meter, draagt ook de naam Château de Fauga. Dit okerkleurige, enigszins koloniale gebouw is meer een groot woonhuis dan een château.

El castillo se alza en las afueras de Le Fleix, en la antigua parroquia de La Rouquette. En francés antiguo, "Fauga" significa helecho. En el dintel de la puerta de entrada principal hay tallada una hoja de helecho. El castillo consta de un cuerpo central flanqueado por dos alas y una torre circular rematada por una cúpula de piedra2. Actualmente forma parte de una finca vinícola. Un segundo edificio, situado al borde de la carretera, a 435 metros de altura en línea recta, lleva también el nombre de Château de Fauga. Este edificio de color ocre y estilo colonial es más una gran residencia que un castillo.

Il castello sorge ai margini di Le Fleix, nell'antica parrocchia di La Rouquette. In francese antico, "Fauga" significa felce. Una foglia di felce è scolpita sull'architrave della porta d'ingresso principale. Il castello è composto da un corpo centrale affiancato da due ali e da una torre circolare sormontata da una cupola in pietra2. Oggi fa parte di un'azienda vinicola. Un secondo edificio, situato sul ciglio della strada a 435 metri di altezza in linea d'aria, porta anch'esso il nome di Château de Fauga. Questo edificio color ocra, in stile un po' coloniale, è più una grande residenza che un castello.
