Château de Bonneval – Coussac-Bonneval

Le château de Bonneval surplombe le bourg du village de Coussac. Il occupait une position stratégique importante. Un premier édifice existait déjà en 930. Il fût reconstruit au XIVème siècle, puis remanié au XVIIIème siècle. C’est un quadrilatère flanqué de quatre grosses tours rondes, entouré de fossés. Il appartient à la famille de Bonneval depuis plus de dix siècles. A voir : sa façade orientale avec une tour carrée centrale à double pont-levis, sa cour intérieure, décorée à la Renaissance d’une galerie à colonnades, son élégante façade ouest et sa terrasse. Ce château abrite un riche mobilier ainsi que des tapisseries d’Aubusson et de Fontainebleau.
