Chapelle de La Croix au Bost – Saint-Domet

Il y avait à la Croix-au-Bost vers 1880 une commanderie de l’ordre des Hospitaliers de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem. C’était un domaine agricole comprenant à la fois des bâtiments agricoles, des édifices plus ou moins fortifiés abritant des chevaliers de formation militaire et religieuse et une chapelle. A la tête de ce domaine, le Commandeur vivait dans une tour ronde à mâchicoulis près de l’église. De cet important domaine ne subsiste que la chapelle dédiée à Saint-Jean-Baptiste, patron de l’ordre où l’on célèbre encore des offices. Cette chapelle a été profondément remaniée au XVIIIe siècle. La chapelle abrite un bel ensemble du XVIIe siècle formant retable, comportant des lambris, un tabernacle, 2 gradins d’autel, une exposition et des lambris de revêtement. Intorno al 1880, La Croix-au-Bost ospitava una commenda dell'Ordine degli Ospedalieri di San Giovanni di Gerusalemme. Si trattava di una tenuta agricola composta da edifici agricoli, edifici più o meno fortificati che ospitavano cavalieri con formazione militare e religiosa, e una cappella. A capo di questa tenuta, il Comandante viveva in una torre rotonda con caditoie vicino alla chiesa. Di questa importante tenuta rimane solo la cappella dedicata a Saint-Jean-Baptiste, patrono dell'Ordine, dove si svolgono tuttora le funzioni. Questa cappella ha subito ampie modifiche nel XVIII secolo. La cappella ospita una bella pala d'altare del XVII secolo con rivestimenti, un tabernacolo, 2 gradini d'altare, una mostra e rivestimenti.
