CENTRE RÉGIONAL D'ART CONTEMPORAIN (CRAC) – Sète

Situé à Sète, au bord du canal royal, le Centre Régional d'Art Contemporain à Sète s'ouvre sur la Méditerranée. Le CRAC OCCITANIE inscrit son projet sur les voies de communications artistiques et historiques, économiques et touristiques qui transitent du Nord au Sud, de l'Orient à l'Occident. Lieu dédié à la création artistique, il présente une programmation d’expositions temporaires, de projets spécifiques créés in situ. Il favorise les partenariats internationaux et offre à tous les publics un accès privilégié aux explorations de la création actuelle. Il éclaire les croisements entre différentes disciplines qui fondent l’art d’aujourd’hui et de demain par la découverte d’œuvres inédites. A la fois lieu de production, de recherche, d’expérimentation et d’exposition, le CRAC OCCITANIE a présenté, à ce jour, plus de six cents artistes représentatifs de la scène artistique nationale et internationale.

The Regional Contemporary Art Centre (CRAC) of Occitanie, Pyrénées-Méditerranée lies on the pathways of artistic communication that travel between Italy and Spain, from North to South, from the West to the East. The location of the building, the raw quality exuded by the place, its large volumes bound to the memory of its original purpose (fish freezing and conservation centre), make this an original place of great quality. Its architecture allows several exhibitions to be shown at the same time, encouraging the production of work in the region by hosting resident artists and the creation of works scaled to the large exhibition area available. Das Regionale Zentrum für Zeitgenössische Kunst (CRAC) Occitanie, Pyrénées-Méditerranée stellt eine Etappe a uf der Route des künstlerischen Austauschs zwischen Italien und Spanien, Norden und Süden, Orient und Abendland dar. Die Lage des Gebäudes, der unverfälschte Charakter, den dieser Ort ausstrahlt, sein großzügiges Volumen, das an seine ursprüngliche Aufgabe (Fisch- Tiefkühl- und Konservierungsanlage) erinnert, machen dieses Zentrum zu einem Standort hoher Qualität. Seine Architektur ermöglicht die Präsentation mehrerer Ausstellungen gleichzeitig, die Förderung des regionalen Schaffens durch die Vorstellung von einheimischen Künstlern und das Erfassen der Werke in Zusammenhang mit dem Ausstellungsraum. Das CRAC fördert als Ort der Forschung, des Schaffens und der Verbreitung zeitgenössischer Kunst das Kunstschaffen in der Region, indem es einheimische Künstler präsentiert, Bücher herausgibt, einen Beitrag zur Kunsterziehung leistet und jedes Jahr mehrere Ausstellungen anbietet.

Het Regionaal Centrum voor Moderne Kunst van Occitanie, Pyrénées-Méditerranée bevindt zich aan de artistieke verbindingswegen die lopen van Italië naar Spanje, van noord naar zuid en van oost naar west. De plaats van het gebouw, de uitstraling die ervan uitgaat, de omvang van de ruimtes gekoppeld aan de herinnering aan de oorspronkelijke bestemming (centrum voor invriezen en conserveren van vis), maken het tot een originele eersteklas locatie. De architectuur maakt het mogelijk er verscheidene exposities tegelijkertijd te houden, regionale kunst te stimuleren door opvang voor inwonende artiesten, en werken te scheppen die passen bij de expositieruimte. El Centro Regional de Arte Contemporáneo de Occitanie, Pyrénées-Méditerranée se enmarca en las sendas de comunicación artísticas que transitan de Italia a España, de Norte a Sur, de Oriente a Occidente. La situación del edificio, la calidad bruta que desprende el lugar, la amplitud de sus volúmenes, en relación con su vocación de origen (centro de congelación y de conservación del pescado), hacen que sea un lugar original de gran calidad. Su arquitectura permite acoger varias exposiciones en mismo tiempo, favorecer la producción de obras en la región mediante la acogida de artistas en residencia y concebir obras, en relación con el espacio de exposición. La posizione dell’edificio, la qualità grezza che questo luogo sprigiona, l’ampiezza dei volumi legati alla memoria della sua vocazione originaria (era un centro per il congelamento e la conservazione del pesce), ne fanno un luogo originale di grande qualità. La sua architettura permette di accogliere diverse mostre allo stesso tempo, di favorire la produzione di opere nella regione per accogliere artisti in residenza e di concepire creazioni in rapporto con lo spazio espositivo.
