BUTTES DE PERAY – "LE CASTRUM PIRETI" – Peray

Au cours des X, XI et XIIème siècle, le Saosnois est en pleine tourmente et nombreuses guerres agitent le territoire. La grande butte de Peray est une des plus importantes du département et assurait une triple protection : – de larges fossés remplis d'eau – des remparts autour de la basse cour – une motte très élevée. Aujourd'hui les buttes offrent un magnifique panorama sur la campagne alentour. Une table d'orientation est installée au sommet. Vous pourrez également observer des moutons d'Ouessant qui entretiennent les lieux.
