Ancienne Abbaye bénédictine royale – Valognes

Fondée en 1629 pour une communauté de soeurs bénédictines, l'abbaye de Valognes reçoit un accueil enthousiaste de la population et obtient en 1646 un brevet de protection du roi Louis XIII. Suite à la Révolution de 1789, les soeurs sont expulsées et l'édifice est transformé en hôpital-hospice. Cet ensemble de l'âge baroque, organisé autour du cloître, présente une remarquable unité stylistique.
