Abbatiale – Saint-Seine-l'Abbaye

De style gothique bourguignon, elle fut commencée au XIIIe s. et complétée aux XIVe et XVe s. sous trois abbés dont Jean de Blaisy et Pierre de Fontette dont on peut voir les pierres tombales dans l'église (le premier représenté sous forme de squelette, le second paré des ornements épiscopaux). Le portail est orné d'un décor végétal typiquement bourguignon. Le magnifique jubé en pierre ciselée (XIVe s.) qui se trouvait plus avant dans la nef a été remonté dans le choeur où l'on peut voir d'élégantes stalles Louis XV. Les exceptionnelles peintures murales illustrent au nord la légende de saint Seine en 22 tableaux (1504) et au sud l'arbre de Jessé, saint Christophe et des litanies de la Vierge dans un style influencé par la Renaissance.

In Burgundian Gothic style, it was begun in the 13th century and completed in the 14th and 15th centuries under three abbots, including Jean de Blaisy and Pierre de Fontette, whose tombstones can be seen in the church (the former depicted as a skeleton, the latter adorned with episcopal ornaments). The portal is decorated with a typical Burgundian plant decoration. The magnificent chiselled stone rood screen (14th century), which stood earlier in the nave, has been reassembled in the choir, where you can see elegant Louis XV stalls. The exceptional wall paintings illustrate the legend of Saint Seine in 22 pictures (1504) on the north side and the tree of Jesse, Saint Christopher and the litanies of the Virgin Mary on the south side in a style influenced by the Renaissance.

Jh. unter drei Äbten begonnen und im 14. und 15. Jh. vollendet, darunter Jean de Blaisy und Pierre de Fontette, deren Grabsteine in der Kirche zu sehen sind (der erste als Skelett dargestellt, der zweite mit dem bischöflichen Ornat geschmückt). Das Portal ist mit einem typisch burgundischen Pflanzendekor verziert. Der prächtige Lettner aus ziseliertem Stein (14. Jh.), der sich weiter vorne im Kirchenschiff befand, wurde im Chor wieder aufgebaut, wo man ein elegantes Chorgestühl im Stil Ludwigs XV. sehen kann. Die außergewöhnlichen Wandmalereien illustrieren im Norden die Legende des Heiligen Seine in 22 Bildern (1504) und im Süden den Baum Jesse, den Heiligen Christophorus und die Litaneien der Jungfrau Maria in einem von der Renaissance beeinflussten Stil.
