Description

Dragons have long been a source of folklore and myths. In the Middle Ages, the dragon—winged and fire-breathing—represented a wild side opposed to civilization and symbolized absolute evil, much like the devil. The situation is quite the opposite in Asia, where the perception of the dragon—rarely negative—is often associated with nature and its meteorological phenomena. It therefore embodies a positive and benevolent figure that can even bring good luck! Hugues Simoneau, a cultural mediator, will provide an overview of the history of this legendary creature across the various cultures that continue to celebrate it to this day. Participants are then invited to create their own dragon!
