Mental Health Awareness Weeks (SISM) have been held for many yearsin France and consist of events held each year throughout the country with the goal of raising public awareness about mental health.

In 2019, a report by the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed, for the first time, the positive effects of the arts on physical and mental health.

By playing a preventive role and contributing to recovery, the arts and artistic practices—particularly through art therapy—complement traditional therapeutic approaches.

That is why this year’s theme focuses on the arts and their benefits. This theme resonated with the Community of Communes of the Pays de Lalbenque-Limogne, which has positioned itselffor the first time to offer a diverse program from October 6 to 30, 2026: workshops, performances, book clubs, digital activities, and more—all aimed at raising awareness and providing information about mental health.
