Description

Artistic production workshop in theater, music and visual arts.
In the summer of 2024, 80 years after the D-Day landings and the destruction of much of the city of Caen, Amavada?s multidisciplinary workshop looked at the reconstruction of Caen?s cultural life through the adventure of Jo Tréhard, the OMJ and the municipal Beaux-Arts theatre, nicknamed the Tonneau. In ruins, in war, in the midst of disaster, theater recreates humanity. To this teaching is added the realization that if the audience doesn't come to the theater, the theater must come to the audience. Tréhard?s friend Jean Vilar's theatrical decentralization project, which began with the Tonneau in Caen, will be the subject of the 2025 summer course, or how, with the Théâtre-Maison de la Culture de Caen from 1963 onwards, then the Comédie de Caen from 1969 to 1972, Jo Tréhard and his fellow travelers pursued the decompartmentalization of the arts, helped audiences discover new forms such as the Living Theater, and dared to try out all kinds of experiments.
