Salué à travers le monde comme l’un des plus grands pianistes de notre temps, Alexandre Kantorow nous propose un récital dont le programme met en valeur l’étendue de son talent. Devenu en 2019 le premier pianiste français à remporter le Concours Tchaïkovski, Alexandre Kantorow connaît depuis une extraordinaire ascension. Pas encore trentenaire, il se produit comme concertiste ou en récital dans les plus grandes salles et les plus grands festivals du monde et chacun de ses enregistrements constitue un événement. En prélude aux 40 ans de Marseille Concerts et pour son grand retour à La Criée, Alexandre Kantorow a choisi un programme romantique qui correspond à son cœur de répertoire mais qui s’ouvre avec deux pièces relativement peu jouées : les variations composées par Franz Liszt sur un motif issu de la cantate BW12 de Johann Sebastian Bach : Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen (les pleurs, les lamentations, les tourments et le découragement) et la sonate opus 5 de Nikolaï Medtner, un jeune contemporain de Rachmaninov. En deuxième partie, Chopin nous conduit vers la virtuosité lumineuse de la dixième sonate de Scriabine – surnommée Les insectes, en illustration des trilles qui parsèment la partition- avant de finir par l’ultime sonate composée par Beethoven, sublime synthèse de son œuvre pour piano.

Hailed around the world as one of the greatest pianists of our time, Alexandre Kantorow offers us a recital whose program showcases the breadth of his talent. In 2019, Alexandre Kantorow became the first French pianist to win the Tchaikovsky Competition. Still in his early thirties, he performs as a concert pianist and in recital in the world?s greatest concert halls and festivals, and each of his recordings is an event an event. As a prelude to the 40th anniversary of Marseille Concerts, and for his grand return to La Criée, Alexandre Kantorow has chosen a Romantic program which corresponds to his core repertoire, but which opens with two relatively little-played pieces: The Eroica and The Eroicaweinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen (Weeping, Lamentations, Torments and Discouragement), composed by Franz Liszt on a motif from Johann Sebastian Bach's cantata BW12, and the Sonata Op. 5 by Nikolai Medtner, a young contemporary of Rachmaninov. In the second half, Chopin leads us into the luminous virtuosity of Scriabin?s tenth sonata – nicknamed Les insectes, in illustration of the trills that dot the score – before finishing with Beethoven?s final sonata, a sublime synthesis of his piano oeuvre.

Zum Auftakt des 40-jährigen Jubiläums von Marseille Concerts und für seine große Rückkehr nach La Criée hat Alexandre Kantorow ein romantisches Programm ausgewählt, das seinem Kernrepertoire entspricht, das aber mit einigen wenigen unbekannten Stücken beginntes beginnt mit zwei relativ selten gespielten Stücken: Franz Liszts Variationen über ein Motiv aus Johann Sebastian Bachs Kantate BW12: Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen und die Sonate Opus 5 von Nikolai Medtner, einem jungen Zeitgenossen Rachmaninows. Im zweiten Teil führt uns Chopin zu der leuchtenden Virtuosität von Skrjabins zehnter Sonate – die wegen der Triller, die die Partitur durchziehen, auch Die Insekten genannt wird – und endet mit Beethovens letzter Sonate, einer erhabenen Zusammenfassung seines Klavierwerks.
