Exposition – Les mondes invisibles de Aurélien Mauplot – 13-06-2025 – Les Eyzies

Cette exposition est l’aboutissement de trois années de résidence artistique. Aurélien Mauplot y explore la Préhistoire à travers une approche sensible et contemporaine, en évitant toute reconstitution littérale. L’artiste interroge les signes géométriques, la transmission et la « marche d’approche » vers la grotte, dans une quête de résonance entre art et traces oubliées. Une quinzaine d’œuvres – installations, photographies, vidéos – sont disséminées dans tous les espaces du musée, dont Jekstàt, commande publique, et Gargas, installation née d’une nuit au musée. Le projet mêle aussi performances, événements participatifs et collaborations interprofessionnelles. Il s'inscrit dans une volonté de dialogue entre création contemporaine et patrimoine scientifique. This exhibition is the culmination of a three-year artistic residency. Aurélien Mauplot explores prehistory through a sensitive, contemporary approach, avoiding any literal reconstitution. The artist questions geometric signs, transmission and the "approach walk" to the cave, in a quest for resonance between art and forgotten traces. Some fifteen works – installations, photographs, videos – are scattered throughout the museum, including Jekstàt, a public commission, and Gargas, an installation born of a night at the museum. The project also combines performances, participatory events and inter-professional collaborations. It is part of a dialogue between contemporary creation and scientific heritage. Diese Ausstellung ist der Höhepunkt eines dreijährigen Künstleraufenthalts. Aurélien Mauplot erkundet die Vorgeschichte durch einen sensiblen und zeitgenössischen Ansatz, der jede wörtliche Rekonstruktion vermeidet. Der Künstler hinterfragt die geometrischen Zeichen, die Überlieferung und den "Annäherungsmarsch" zur Höhle, auf der Suche nach einer Resonanz zwischen Kunst und vergessenen Spuren. Etwa fünfzehn Werke – Installationen, Fotografien, Videos – sind in allen Räumen des Museums zu sehen, darunter Jekstàt, ein öffentlicher Auftrag, und Gargas, eine Installation, die nach einer Nacht im Museum entstand. Das Projekt vermischt auch Performances, partizipative Veranstaltungen und interprofessionelle Zusammenarbeit. Es ist Teil eines Dialogs zwischen zeitgenössischem Schaffen und wissenschaftlichem Erbe. Aurélien Mauplot verkent de prehistorie via een gevoelige en hedendaagse benadering, waarbij hij elke letterlijke reconstructie vermijdt. De kunstenaar onderzoekt geometrische tekens, overdracht en de 'aanlooproute' naar de grot, in een zoektocht naar een resonantie tussen kunst en vergeten sporen. Zo'n vijftien werken – installaties, foto's, video's – zijn verspreid over het museum, waaronder Jekstàt, een openbare opdracht, en Gargas, een installatie die is ontstaan uit een nacht in het museum. Het project combineert ook performances, participatieve evenementen en interprofessionele samenwerking. Het maakt deel uit van een streven naar dialoog tussen hedendaagse creatie en wetenschappelijk erfgoed.
