Figures de l'arte povera : Giovanni Anselmo, Giuseppe Penone et Michelangelo Pistoletto Par Chiara Parisi, Directrice du Centre Pompidou-Metz Dans cette conférence, il s'agit de retracer la généalogie historique de l'Arte Povera et d'en interroger surtout la persistance au-delà du mouvement, dans la force mentale et éthique de l'art chez ces artistes. Trois figures – Giuseppe Penone (1947-), Michelangelo Pistoletto (1933-), Giovanni Anselmo (1934-2023) – sont convoquées comme les artistes qui ont déplacé l'art hors du cadre, hors de la représentation, pour le ramener dans la vie. Entre la croissance inarrêtable d'un arbre (Penone), la mise en jeu de l'autre comme miroir infini (Pistoletto) et la tension invisible qui maintient une pierre en équilibre contre la gravité (Anselmo), se manifeste une radicalité commune : l'art comme acte de relation. En résonance avec Dimanche sans fin, ces trois artistes, et d'autres encore, seront évoqués.

Figures of Arte Povera: Giovanni Anselmo, Giuseppe Penone, and Michelangelo Pistoletto By Chiara Parisi, Director of the Centre Pompidou-Metz This lecture aims to trace the historical genealogy of Arte Povera and, above all, to examine its enduring influence beyond the movement itself, as reflected in the intellectual and ethical strength of these artists’ work. Three figures—Giuseppe Penone (1947–), Michelangelo Pistoletto (1933–), Giovanni Anselmo (1934–2023)—are highlighted as the artists who have shifted art beyond the frame, beyond representation, to bring it back into life. Between the unstoppable growth of a tree (Penone), the use of the other as an infinite mirror (Pistoletto), and the invisible tension that keeps a stone in balance against gravity (Anselmo), a shared radicalism emerges: art as an act of connection. In resonance with *Endless Sunday*, these three artists—and others as well—will be discussed.

Drei Persönlichkeiten – Giuseppe Penone (1947–), Michelangelo Pistoletto (1933–) Giovanni Anselmo (1934–2023) – werden als jene Künstler herangezogen, die die Kunst aus dem Rahmen, aus der Darstellung herausgeführt haben, um sie wieder ins Leben zurückzubringen. Zwischen dem unaufhaltsamen Wachstum eines Baumes (Penone), der Einbeziehung des Anderen als unendlicher Spiegel (Pistoletto) und der unsichtbaren Spannung, die einen Stein gegen die Schwerkraft im Gleichgewicht hält (Anselmo), offenbart sich eine gemeinsame Radikalität: Kunst als Akt der Beziehung. In Anlehnung an „Dimanche sans fin“ werden diese drei Künstler und weitere noch erwähnt.

Drie figuren – Giuseppe Penone (1947-), Michelangelo Pistoletto (1933-), Giovanni Anselmo (1934-2023) – worden genoemd als de kunstenaars die de kunst buiten het kader en buiten de representatie hebben gebracht, om haar terug te brengen naar het leven. Tussen de onstuitbare groei van een boom (Penone), de inzet van de ander als oneindige spiegel (Pistoletto) en de onzichtbare spanning die een steen in evenwicht houdt tegen de zwaartekracht in (Anselmo), komt een gemeenschappelijke radicaliteit tot uiting: kunst als een daad van verbinding. In aansluiting op „Dimanche sans fin“ zullen deze drie kunstenaars, en nog anderen, aan bod komen.

Entre el crecimiento imparable de un árbol (Penone), la intervención del otro como espejo infinito (Pistoletto) y la tensión invisible que mantiene una piedra en equilibrio contra la gravedad (Anselmo), se manifiesta una radicalidad común: el arte como acto de relación. En resonancia con «Domingo sin fin», se evocará a estos tres artistas, y a otros más.

Tre figure – Giuseppe Penone (1947-), Michelangelo Pistoletto (1933-), Giovanni Anselmo (1934-2023) – vengono citate come gli artisti che hanno spostato l’arte fuori dal quadro, fuori dalla rappresentazione, per riportarla nella vita. Tra la crescita inarrestabile di un albero (Penone), la messa in gioco dell’altro come specchio infinito (Pistoletto) e la tensione invisibile che mantiene una pietra in equilibrio contro la gravità (Anselmo), si manifesta una radicalità comune: l’arte come atto di relazione.
