Kamalaine Sophie Bertolotti-Poulot – Champdôtre

Sophie habite dans un petit village près de Dijon, une vieille maison avec un grand jardin. Elle est depuis longtemps passionnée par la laine et les plantes tinctoriales ! Pour la teinture, après des années d’expériences étranges dans sa cuisine, elle a structuré ses connaissances empiriques avec Couleur Garance et Colore ton Monde. Ensuite Ravelry lui a ouvert un champ des possibles tricotesques quasi infini ; Ysolda Teague et Kate Davies, par exemple, l’ont inspirée, par leurs modèles et les laines qu’elles ont créés. Puis le travail de l’Atelier Laines d’Europe et le bouillonnement laineux rencontré à Felletin ont semé des graines… Si bien que l’idée de Kamalaine a germé, non seulement teindre avec des plantes, mais en créant des fils, du choix de l’éleveur et de ses moutons à l’écheveau qui sort de la filature, qui sera teint dans ma cuisine, connaître l’histoire de la matière brute et de ses transformations, offrir un matériau beau et propice à la création. Transmettre les plaisirs des couleurs naturelles et du tricot était bien sûr une évidence pour Sophie, en continuité avec sa vie de prof d’anglais et de yoga ! Tout se complète !

Sophie lives in a small village near Dijon, an old house with a large garden. She has long been passionate about wool and dyeing plants! For dyeing, after years of strange experiments in her kitchen, she structured her empirical knowledge with Couleur Garance and Colore ton Monde. Then Ravelry opened up an almost infinite field of knitting possibilities for her; Ysolda Teague and Kate Davies, for example, inspired her with their patterns and the wools they created. Then the work of the Atelier Laines d'Europe and the woolly bubbling encountered in Felletin sowed the seeds… So much so that the idea of Kamalaine germinated, not only to dye with plants, but by creating yarns, from the choice of the breeder and his sheep to the skein that comes out of the spinning mill, which will be dyed in my kitchen, to know the history of the raw material and its transformations, to offer a beautiful material that is conducive to creation. Passing on the pleasures of natural colours and knitting was of course an obvious choice for Sophie, in continuity with her life as an English and yoga teacher! Everything completes itself!

Sophie wohnt in einem kleinen Dorf in der Nähe von Dijon in einem alten Haus mit einem großen Garten. Sie hat schon lange eine Leidenschaft für Wolle und Färbepflanzen! Was das Färben angeht, hat sie nach Jahren seltsamer Experimente in ihrer Küche ihr empirisches Wissen mit Couleur Garance und Colore ton Monde strukturiert. Danach eröffnete ihr Ravelry ein schier unendliches Feld an Strickmöglichkeiten; Ysolda Teague und Kate Davies zum Beispiel inspirierten sie mit ihren Modellen und den von ihnen entworfenen Garnen. Dann säte die Arbeit des Ateliers Laines d'Europe und das wollige Brodeln, das man in Felletin antraf, Samen… So gut, dass die Idee von Kamalaine aufkeimte, nicht nur mit Pflanzen zu färben, sondern dabei Garne zu kreieren, von der Wahl des Züchters und seiner Schafe bis zum Strang, der die Spinnerei verlässt und in meiner Küche gefärbt wird, die Geschichte des Rohmaterials und seiner Verwandlungen zu kennen, ein schönes Material anzubieten, das der Kreativität förderlich ist. Die Freude an Naturfarben und am Stricken weiterzugeben, war für Sophie natürlich eine Selbstverständlichkeit, die sich nahtlos in ihr Leben als Englisch- und Yogalehrerin einfügt! Alles ergänzt sich!

Het doorgeven van het plezier van natuurlijke kleuren en breien was natuurlijk een voor de hand liggende keuze voor Sophie, in aansluiting op haar leven als lerares Engels en yoga! Alles gaat vanzelf!

Trasmettere il piacere dei colori naturali e del lavoro a maglia è stata naturalmente una scelta ovvia per Sophie, in continuità con la sua vita di insegnante di inglese e di yoga!
