Les bords de Somme – Long

Si la Somme alimente toujours les nombreux étangs, le fleuve, maîtrisé par un barrage, fournissait autrefois le courant électrique dans le village. Le parcours vous emmène par le marais au paradis des pêcheurs de Long et rejoins le bord de Somme en empruntant le chemin de halage. Cette voie servait naguère pour tracter bateaux et péniches. Sur le chemin, vous passerez devant l'ancienne maison éclusière aujourd'hui devenu bureau d'information touristique après le pont métallique bleu prés de l’écluse. Passez ensuite sous le pont enjambant la Somme pour longer le parc du château de Long et atteindre la centrale hydroélectrique et enfin rejoindre le parking.

While the Somme still feeds the many ponds, the river—controlled by a dam—once provided electricity to the village. The trail takes you through the marshes to the fishermen’s paradise of Long and leads you to the banks of the Somme via the towpath. This path was once used to pull boats and barges. Along the way, you’ll pass the old lock house—now a tourist information office—after crossing the blue metal bridge near the lock. Then pass under the bridge spanning the Somme to walk along the grounds of the Château de Long, reach the hydroelectric power plant, and finally arrive at the parking lot.

Auch wenn die Somme nach wie vor die zahlreichen Teiche speist, lieferte der durch einen Damm gestaute Fluss früher den Strom für das Dorf. Hoewel de Somme nog steeds de talrijke vijvers van water voorziet, leverde de rivier, die door een dam in bedwang wordt gehouden, vroeger de elektriciteit voor het dorp. Aunque el Somme sigue alimentando los numerosos estanques, el río, regulado por una presa, solía suministrar la electricidad al pueblo. El recorrido te lleva a través de la marisma hasta el paraíso de los pescadores de Long y llega a la orilla del Somme por el camino de sirga. Esta vía se utilizaba antiguamente para arrastrar barcos y barcazas. Por el camino, pasarás por delante de la antigua casa de la esclusa, que hoy en día se ha convertido en oficina de información turística, situada tras el puente metálico azul cerca de la esclusa. Passate quindi sotto il ponte che attraversa la Somme per costeggiare il parco del castello di Long e raggiungere la centrale idroelettrica, per poi arrivare infine al parcheggio.
