L'église Saint-Martin et la cité de Saint-Valery – Saint-Valery-sur-Somme

Sur les remparts de la cité médiévale, l’église Saint-Martin veille sur la baie de Somme. Endommagée par les conflits médiévaux, elle est reconstruite au 15e siècle dans le style gothique flamboyant. Elle a conservé ses caractéristiques architecturales typiques de la Picardie maritime comme son parement en damier et sa collection d’ex-votos marins.

On the ramparts of the medieval town, the church of Saint-Martin watches over the Bay of the Somme. Damaged by medieval conflicts, it was rebuilt in the 15th century in the flamboyant Gothic style. It has preserved its typical Picardie maritime architectural features, such as its checkerboard siding and its collection of ex-votos.

Auf den Stadtmauern der mittelalterlichen Stadt wacht die Kirche Saint-Martin über die Bucht der Somme. Die durch mittelalterliche Konflikte beschädigte Kirche wurde im 15. Jahrhundert im Stil der Flamboyant-Gotik wiederaufgebaut. Sie hat ihre typischen architektonischen Merkmale der maritimen Picardie bewahrt, wie z. B. ihre schachbrettartige Fassade und ihre Sammlung von Ex-Votos aus der Seefahrt.
